worth noting: back in August, we hosted local artists celebrating sewers and treatment plants with a literary reading of their own work—*within* a tunnel of ours, thx to @literarycleveland.bsky.social.

Exciting news! Workers in some of the most music venues in DC are organizing for better pay, respect, and working conditions.

Solidarity! I can't wait to see a show or go to an event at a union venue in Ward 1 😊 🎸✊🏾

Workers take steps to unionize at four D.C. music venues, including 9:30 Club
Staff members at the Anthem, Lincoln Theatre, the Atlantis and the 9:30 Club presented petitions to production company I.M.P. on Monday. They criticized conditions and wages at the locations.

This is the base principal of a lot of leftists, BIPOC activists, SJWs, pro-Palis, etc. Absolutely no braincells involved.
The core problem is this, he doesn’t practice principled anti-imperialism. He practices inversionism: if the U.S. supports something, he reflexively takes the opposite side, no matter how brutal that side is, no matter the evidence.

“big balls” is trending but apparently it has nothing to do with Paris sewers of the 1870s which is unfortunate
Big balls were used to clear sewers of the 1870s
Yes, cleaning sewers in Paris literally required rolling giant spheres of wood and iron through the tunnel.

This is outrageous. A federal worker at our DC town hall talks about how employees are being asked to write letters stating their support for Trump. Our loyalty is to country not any particular president. As the woman said, “what the literal fuck.” open.substack.com/pub/jimacost...

His former co-workers understood the importance of addressing pollution that disproportionately impacted communities of color, he added. “That’s part of the mission — it has been for decades."
