People are being forced out of DC. The cost of living is too high, and Trump is waging an all-out assault on the District.

It should be easier and more affordable to build a life here.

That's why I’m running for DC Council in Ward 1.

We were particularly proud of this October story on rising evictions in D.C. with @streetsensedc.bsky.social and American University's Investigative Reporting Workshop.

Several residents facing eviction shared their personal stories with our team, something that we never take for granted.
Evictions rising in DC as housing costs increase
New data shows evictions have surged past pre-pandemic levels, fueled by shrinking aid, high rents, and weakened tenant protections.

The US violates international law, devastates and destabilizes other countries, and then terrorizes the refugees and immigrants we create through our foreign policy.

Trump’s actions in Venezuela are reckless & horrifying, and make everyone— in DC, across the country, and abroad — less safe.

As a proud union member, I know how a living wage, strong benefits, and workplace protections can transform lives.

No one in DC should have to work multiple jobs to make ends meet.

Parents & caregivers shouldn’t have to put their careers on hold or move out of DC because they can’t afford childcare. I’m fighting for free, universal childcare because working families deserve more—but we need your help to make it happen.

On this day 52 years ago, the Home Rule Act was signed into law – won through generations of resistance and organizing by DC residents.

Today, with DC autonomy under unprecedented attack, the fight for DC statehood must continue until we win. wamu.org/story/25/05/...

It’s been a hard year, but in 2026 we’ll have the opportunity to create a Ward 1 that works for us. We’re trying to raise $2,026 from DC donors by 2026 to make that possible. 💜
