Are we going to have an election after tonight's budget vote?

I'm still betting on no, but if we do, it's going to be by way of an utter farce.

Is Canada Getting A Surprise Election For Christmas This Year?
I don't think so. But we might end up with one by accident. That would be a mistake.

Hmm ... thinking of superheroes still, and specifically about flag heroes

(Your Captains America, Britain, etc ...)

Would a Pride flag hero be kitsch or cringe?

A HUGE win for James Comey in his criminal case.

A federal judge orders the DOJ to turnover ALL OF THE GRAND JURY MATERIALS to Comey's defense team.

About to drop a new episode walking through the details of this scathing order on my YouTube channel!

I’ve recently bought new releases by 3 local authors and I wanted give a shout out each of the authors in the hope that they might find more readers via BlueSky. Each are self-published and I know how hard they work to promote their books and connect with audiences.

So let’s go!

The AI bubble may be about to bust.

Peter Thiel has sold all of his Nvidia stock.

We all need to say this very clearly:

NO BAILOUTS FOR THEFT-TECH!

Expropriate their asses instead.

They stole from all of us and fully plan to burn the planet.

They owe us - not the other way around. 1/3

Check out the cover! I absolutely love it.

THREAD.
I love old Habitat catalogues & managed to get hold of all the 70s ones before they got v pricey & collectable. Flicking through them, I wondered: "What are the true stories of the lives of the people in these photos?"

So I decided to write those stories.

You'll find them in the alt text.

Day one of the TTL end of year reading starts with They Take You As They Find You by @lynorlane.bsky.social. Four youngsters and a non-talking animal in a van, looking into mysteries. Sound familiar? But this story has something different to say about monsters.

It is very weird when US media does not report on the safety concerns, which are top of the list for Canadians I know. Yeah we are also pissed off but we've been pissed off since January, the decline was not gonna keep declining based purely on "elbows up."
I legitimately think this article misses the mark, because Canadians are not avoiding travel out of some principled boycott of the USA over tariffs.

Canadians who are avoiding the USA are seeing images of masked government thugs kidnapping people and teargassing children.

A reminder: AI is a bad translator--it will give you in a pinch the meaning (if it doesn't get hopelessly confused) , but i will not create something that reads like a book.
That's why we have professionals.
(And everyone who's reread ai translations knows that it's faster going to rewrite them)

You, dear parent, should be honored that your trans child trusted you enough to reveal their deepest internal sense of being.
That's incredibly trust, and love.
Listen to them.
Respect their bodily autonomy.
Don't fuck it up.
Today is Trans Parent Day - a day to celebrate both parents who are trans and parents of trans people. It’s also an opportunity for us to speak about the pride we feel for our loved ones.

We’re a group of parents of trans children and adults who care about their future.

I was at a talk last week, and I gave an example of a quick & dirty narrative rule for keeping an audience onboard for repeated outings of existing characters. People seemed to appreciate it, so I thought I’d share it here, too.

It’s not *my* rule, I learned it during my masters! But it’s v. handy!

It sounds trivial, but its true. Take the time and protect yourself. I know I am one of those types that will stew on setbacks if allowed and it does me no good. Focus instead on the awesome season the Jays had and how hard they played. The teamwork and comradery they showed and embrace that.
Morning. Still heartbroken from the Blue Jays loss. Cannot watch the news in case it is mentioned.

Cooking shows, it is. Another friend is watching property Brothers. And another one is into reruns of The Big Bang Theory. We’re all avoiding the news.

Take care
