It's almost Valentine's Day, so please remember when ordering flowers that lilies are highly, HIGHLY toxic to cats. Even the pollen all by itself is dangerous. Order appropriately.

Last night I dreamed that I sold running shoes that were imaginary. Because they were imaginary, I could only charge $30 per pair

My brain is really weird.

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

The link here fixed the issue.

In order to advance our obviously good and useful program, we need to engage in shady deals and try to sneak it into everything because otherwise people won't use what is obviously good and useful.

The college at which I'm employed, which has signed a contract with the AI firm that stole books from 131 colleagues & me, paid a student to write an op-ed for the student paper promoting AI, guided the writing of it, and did not disclose this to the paper. www.thedartmouth.com/article/2026...
College approached and paid student to write op-ed in The Dartmouth
The Dartmouth ran the article on Nov. 17 without knowledge that the College had been involved.

Head's up, there is a #Kickstarter phishing email going around.

The email is saying your account is restricted because your bank information hasn't been fully verified with a link!

DO NOT CLICK IT or go to that URL!

It came through as a MESSAGE with the name NotificationBot with the KS logo.

Uneventful night, weather-wise. Was 32 degrees out earlier. Dropping quickly though with snow and freezing rain.

Stay warm, north TX. Stay home if you can.

This weekend I went through my DVD collection and found season 1 of Samurai Jack. It's brilliant animation and story telling. Highly recommend.

(It does have a lot of flashing on the screen if that sort of thing bothers you.)
