American conservatives branding themselves as "pro freedom" is insane.

They demand conformity to their "traditional" (bigoted & outdated) social values, they fight to protect state enforcers from accountability for violating people's rights, & they oppose social safety nets. 🧵

"Let's lynch people we suspect of wrongdoing instead of giving them a fair trial and a chance at rehabilitation in a controlled, well supplied facility." I fucking hate anarchists.
"What about [form of abuse that is mostly de facto decriminalised right now anyway]?"

I didn't say abolish bullets, did I?

I mean I think the thing we learned 100 years ago that we are relearning now is that a lot of ownership interests under capitalism are not about the functioning of markets! On all levels of ownership!

I don't think we should assume it will end the trump presidency at all.

again, trump was literally held liable for sexual assault. he boasted on tap about sexually assaulting women. he has been accused by dozens of women of harassment, abuse, and rape. 1
At this point we have to assume that if the Epstein files are released they will
- end the Trump Presidency
- implicate many other prominent Republicans
- destroy the careers of AG Bondi and his other defenders
This is beginning to feel like the greatest scandal in American history.
Trump has done enormous harm to the country.
He is a deeply corrupt and venal man.
He is wildly unpopular, his agenda more so. He's lost the consent of the governed.
He is old, infirm & clearly no longer mentally competent to run a nation.

It is time now to start talking about him moving on👇

In 2019 Jeffrey Epstein said that Trump “knew about the girls.” Somehow, the Biden administration failed to release the emails, or prosecute Trump. From Ryan Cooper: trib.al/OXVHtN0
How on Earth Are We Just Now Hearing About Trump’s ‘Hours’ With an Epstein Victim? - The American Prospect
The recent release of more emails is only the latest in about 10,000 stories implicating Donald Trump in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuses. What were the Justice Department and congressional Democrats doing with the information all this time?

The actual finding here is that a huge percentage of the population believes things that are not true. Democrats objectively did not spend significant time on climate change or LGBTQ issues in the last election campaign.
Duh. Those of us on the ground last year actually speaking with middle class/working class voters and who heard from these voters every single day the same - “Trump is an asshole, but Democrats are out of touch” - could’ve saved my new political party a lot of time & money producing this “report.”👇

The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)

The correct thing to do is to make every Senate Democrat beg for mercy. They’re all guilty. If not for this vote, then for letting Schumer remain leader after the previous nonsense in March.
I mean they do fear the base, which is why people who are not in the immediate line of fire didn't vote for this. They just don't think there's a large splash zone for that rage or that it will last until they're on the block
Dem pols really have 0 fear of their base and that kinda has to change.
