season finale of Fallout was very odd. Enclave established but there are so many hanging threads here that i'm not sure how they bring this back together in season 3.

My actual job description is activist and here’s what I tell people in despair all the time: do not underestimate how much harm you can prevent by being just a little bit annoying.
This is one reason I keep trying to remind people of the power that we have. That we have *always* had. Not because I’m in denial, but because I know history. I’m no sophisticated intellectual, but I do know we’re going to win even though the bad shit is really terrible right now.
Too many people on Bluesky think that relentless expressions of despair are a sign of intellectual sophistication.

strong chance this ages poorly in a low number of hours but i don't think you do random unplanned drop ins at the DCCC or postpone your nominally lucrative book tour to drop a podcast or a PAC

Interesting trend unfolding in this cycle's special elections (data courtesy of @the-downballot.com). In 2018, Dems way overperformed on average in heavily GOP districts; slightly in more competitive ones; and not at all in heavily Dem districts.

In 2026, they're gangbusters in all three.

there is a kind of person that would dunk on this, but this sort of reflection over a seemingly tiny thing is exactly the sort of civic virtue that we need to be encouraging more of
I got my first whistle last weekend and it was a very intense moment, putting it around my neck and thinking about how to use it responsibly to protect my neighborhood. That happened because of the organizing that has already been done in MN, Chicago, and LA.

A statement against doomerism as some kind of intellectually elevated, clued-in reaction to the horrors of our political moment.
The Faux-Sophistication of Doomer Despair
It's okay to feel despair in the moment. But it's dumb to insist we've already lost.

I have been on this site since the invite only days, and I don't think I've ever seen a skeet so thoroughly and comprehensively validated by the reskeets.

I understand folks are scared but I want you to think about the mechanics of this.

There are more polling places (>100k) than ICE and CBP agents combined, so they can only pick a few districts to try to intimidate.

Now what happens when cell phone footage of that goes online in the early morning?

Many people are saying.
Have people not figured out that Steve Bannon just says stuff? He’s literally the “flood the zone with shit“ guy.

He‘s not in Trumps good graces and has little to zero influence. He says bombastic stuff mostly to drive engagement, which he has always done.
Steve Bannon says the federal government is planning to send ICE officers to patrol polling stations during the midterms.

"We're going to have ICE surround the polls come November."

"We're not going to sit here and allow you to steal the country again." www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

I really have to question why Steve Bannon is taken as a credible authority on literally anything in Trump II? like is it just residual belief he's the brains behind Trump? because that wasn't even true in his first term!

Didn't see this mentioned on here today, but Mamdani is endorsing Hochul
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani to endorse Gov. Kathy Hochul
The endorsement, expected this week, gives Hochul a critical inroad with left-leaning voters.

if we can jam Trump into signing this into law, that's a pretty solid achievement for a double minority delegation.

very much besides the point but bizarre of Craig to have successfully challenged for top Dem on an important House committee only to turn around like "nvm" and run for Senate approximately five minutes later
video of angie craig getting booed at a caucus in eagan via kevin holst on twitter

people in minnesota are fired up against ICE, and we have no appetite for a politician like craig who voted for the laken riley act and a resolution in support of ICE

this campaign is going nowhere

one area where popularism is most preposterous is where voters are quite obviously confused
Pew finds 60% oppose pausing visas and 66% oppose nixing asylum! People overinterpreted 2024 as a seismic shift to Trump on immigration. But the data is showing very broad opposition to the restrictionist, ethnonationalist, anti-humanitarian aspects of Trumpism. 5/5

One of the most successful GOP lies is that, there is some magic line that illegal immigrants are just cutting to come into the country, and that they only wanted to deport the criminal ones of those, and, A, there is no line, and B, they want to deport anybody that isn’t Lily white. And yet
