We can try fighting them in court--but I feel like the American people, me and you, should stand up to ICE. We can warn people they're coming, that's good, yes. But what else can we do? If we take guns to these stormtroopers, we'll be playing into Trump's hands. He'd declare martial law.

They are literally firing all the judges they think might grant relief. They just fired a friend of mine a couple hours ago. They have no shame. The bastards want an assembly line for deportations and nothing more; rubber-stamping bootlickers who’ll yes’sir at every new diktat to deny.
Instead of hiring more immigration judges, the Department of Justice just posted an ad for "deportation judges." join.justice.gov

Goddam right. You do the right thing -- which this republic desperately needs done -- and they pull your credentials. So what? You have a phone and your have your sources. or you should. And you continue to report on this presidency as your colleagues now do outside the Pentagon. Enough dishonor.
while I’m being cranky, access journalism needs to go. When the president does his “I’m alpha because I insulted you” thing somebody needs to fall on his sword and say “what the fuck is wrong with you, old man?” on a hot mic. the hero of the wizard of Oz is Toto.

... ok then let's get down to brass tacks. Individual women and doctors are better at determining the necessities of abortion than any law or rules can handle.

I'm not normally one to spin a conspiracy theory. I grew up with them and I hate them. However, I do worry we're not going to get the entire dossier on Jeffrey Epstein. Far from it. I'm sure asshole got assurances that everything about him had been redacted. The about-face makes most sense that way.

I'm an internet stranger, but went through the same thing, ended a week ago and lasted a few weeks.

Been in therapy, medication, should have passed in a few days like usual these days. It didn't.

I hope it passes quickly for you, though

I remember as a weird teen moving there and being horrified by the taste, just utterly disgusted by it.

Then in college going out, drunk on cheap beer, and a five-way was the most delicious thing in the world. (still get cravings for it on the other side of the country) I was like:

Researching a book, I happened upon a map of Italian languages in the 1600s, and was amazed that there was something like 200 micro-languages, all distinct, some Greek and some Latin influenced. Now it's just... Italian (mostly).
This man woke up and chose violence 🤣🤣🤣

But, he's not entirely wrong. What's true for Italian food is true for most culture's cuisines. It all becomes a melting pot! ... er, pun intended.

A fun thing that I have learned in my Bronze Age Crafting Era is that most clothes during that time were probably gender less. Men wore skirts. Women wore pants. Everyone wore jewelry and fabulous capes. Everyone was just trying to get as much as they could out of every scrap of cloth.

I can explain this clickbait for those wondering:

In the original Stephen King book, they end up in Derry at one point.

It sounds like this is one of the many aspects from the book the new movie was faithful to.

The more you know. 😜

I hate that a 15 year old girl is a CHILD to them when she wants to make any medical choice, but not a child when a man touches her.

And men are big tough manly men at any age unless they say something racist and then the thirty year old is "look, he's just a little kid, ok?"

Jesus: Wow. That's an incredible question that shows a great amount of insight into the philosophy of existentialism. Let's unpack this.
