Great story by DWJ, stunning work from Jorge Corona (art) & Mike Spicer (colors). The full page & spreads easily do the work of a thousand words each.

The example of the Washington Post is worth considering the next time you feel the urge to say "I wish some nice billionaire would just GIVE me something or being my patron or float my business!"

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

let fall the stones,
cold, embittered,
into the eye's own
only sea, adrift
in ridicule and melancholy.
all graves unmarked
but with the stench
of a thousand cats' pissings.

I harbor a special loathing for quisling editors.

I spent ~20 years in news. The best news teams in the world are near powerless to save an organization from complicit leadership.
Speaking to WaPo employees, editor Matt Murray says cuts are about “positioning ourselves to become more essential to people's lives, and what is becoming a more crowded, competitive and complicated media landscape, and after some years when, candidly, the Post has had struggles to do that."

@rezendi.com needs to write about this phenomenon.
The more you use AI, the more you start developing a certain voice. The voice of someone who knows that whatever they say will be interpret in the most literal and stupid way possible. Like dealing with a bad genie.

I don't have a name for this phenomenon, but I find it quite funny.

This is unreal. An AUSA talking like that in open court is about as close as you can come to a total breakdown. Never heard of anything like it.

Oh! This is one of those times I get to remind everyone who knows what this is, *especially* those of us who can quote the bit, to schedule your colonoscopy and get your shingles shot, if you haven't already.

I can accept English as a concession to modern sensibilities, but if the Greek subtitles are not a competent mix of the Ionic and Aeolic dialects in use at the time, I will pout and strut like any angry white man, who, if he hasn't read Homer, at least has the CliffsNotes.

Fuck Charles Murray.
Christopher Nolan has cast a Genovian as Penelope and a Bostonian as Odysseus. And they will be speaking English, a language that did not exist in antiquity. This whole production is pure chaos.
Forgive me, Jesus, because I genuinely deeply enjoy how perpetually unhappy and desolate these losers are.

There's been a couple of heavily re-tweeted Epstein posts that insinuate all the conspiracies are real. They are. Because they don't have to be smart to be in one, just rich, and protecting other rich people. That's it.

Reminded of this quote from an article back in 2020:
