I have Gas Town derangement syndrome and spent the last few weeks writing thousands of words on agent orchestration patterns; how they shift our bottlenecks and force us to ask whether and when we should stop looking at code

On agent orchestration patterns, why design and critical thinking are the new bottlenecks, and whether we should let go of looking at code

Attn news commentators: Trump saying he could use force to obtain Greenland but won’t is not Trump saying he won’t use force to obtain Greenland. It is Trump using force as a threat to obtain Greenland. That is why he mentions it.

“Safe AI” isn’t just about the model.
I’ve seen problems start when AI gets added on top of unclear workflows or messy data.
If the product isn’t stable yet, AI just makes failures harder to see.

Yeah I don't understand this. Multiple times recently a decision was made that's clearly going to be read as related to current events, and then it was claimed it was not in response to US actions. Meloni and Starmer both had similar comments re tripwire troops in Greenland.
What's the point?

When I was a kid, one of the careers I considered- and then discarded as implausible- was becoming a comedian.
It's funny that it might eventually become the only career available.

Or maybe if I find that funny I shouldn't be a comedian at all...
In 2023 @garymarcus.bsky.social interviewed me about AI and comedy. I said LLMs weren't funny because they can't hit the right level of surprisal/ppl. I've avoided making predictions about what LLMs will or won't do, but I just checked if I embarrassed myself with my only prediction. I haven't. 👇

Not the point of the OP, but I was curious and took a closer look at this 2025 piece from OpenAI. Much could be said, but it fails my go-to test for all of these pieces about "how people actually use AI": the tokens "sex" "erotic" and "NSFW" do not appear in the paper.

I think Anne Boleyn would not be surprised that the people portraying her has a penis because that was the convention of 16th century English drama.
Personally if I was Anne Boleyn I’d be far more upset that someone made a musical about my head getting cut off
