I wonder if this is more prevalent in SW engineering than other disciplines. Civil or mechanical engineers have to deal with uncertainties and safety buffers in a way that software doesn't - let alone chem or bioengineers...

Temperature doesn't matter here, because they're not sampling the output, they're treating the transformer like an encoder and stopping at the last hidden state
