My middle school read partway through The Outsiders and then act out what might happen if Johnny stood trial. We had to audition for parts and apply to be lawyers. I'm thinking this was 6th grade, and out of the whole grade (120ish kids) there was a team of four defense lawyers and 4 prosecution.
