Sorry to get radical but I don’t think it’s my job or yours to embrace, accept, understand - and certainly not to use - the thing being sold to us as AI. I don’t like any part of it, so I won’t. The AI bubble in a nutshell.
Feeling pretty good right now about my 30-year-old non-digital washing machine, 30-year-old non-digital dryer and 30-year-old non-digital refrigerator that continue to function because that’s what they were built to do.
I understand framing the AI bubble RAM supply crisis in terms of stuff like video game consoles because nerds can conceptualize that but the framing does really undersell the sheer magnitude of how it's going to fuck up everything that even touches a computer.
