Feel free not to displace your anger onto people who are simply stating facts. Knowing who to actually be mad at is praxis.

Impeach, convict and remove. I don't know what Congress is there for otherwise.

In our name, with our money, ostensibly for oil, but mostly because we have a president who's addicted to power and attention and needs to deflect from being friends with the world’s most famous pedophile. Shame on these fucking monsters who run my country. They need out.

It is kind of wild that no big media outlet has busted open the story of who is making DHS' posts on X. Whoever that may be is certainly plugged into hardcore white supremacist internet propaganda with a harder edge. "Groyper" would be underselling it. This is Daily Stormer-tier sludge.

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't nirvana, pearl jam, soundgarden, or Alice In Chains.

Every single song on this is just absolutely fantastic

In case you missed this earlier this week, our team put out a report documenting our approach to "rapid research" during elections, crises, & other breaking news events. It demonstrates a role for university researchers — relying on contextual and methodological expertise — to act as "sensemakers".
Since 2020, our team has iterated on a model for “rapid research” to help surface, analyze, & resolve rumors about election administration. This work demonstrates an innovative role for researchers to support public sensemaking during rapidly unfolding events.

Are there any data on people who may have taken their own lives when their research funding was cut? Any investigative news reports or similar? I have heard bad things through the grapevine.

Please reach out if you’re ever in the darkness.

New research on Twitter (right before rebranding to X) shows right leaning accounts got outsized visibility from the algorithm & suggests this bias stemmed from different content production techniques (more sensational, outrage-bait) and from direct interaction w/ the new king of the platform: Musk.

"All is lost" narratives are popular because people generally do not want to take action. Taking action is tiring so if all is lost, you are off the hook. Nothing is more seductive than not having to do anything.

Doctors could create simple checklists listing all vaccinations that new parents should make sure their children have to keep them as healthy as possible. Make copies and keep them in waiting rooms across the country.

Melissa was part of the “Be Here for the Cure” campaign in 1993. She was 21 yo. She’s still here, more than three decades later. Sometimes, when the present makes me sad or scared, I think about the courage that those young people had to stand up and fight — for their lives — against the stigma.

My wife has been HIV+ for 34 years. She’s alive today b/c work of activists who destigmatized the virus, pushed medical science to adapt & find ways to treat it, & advocated for gov health programs that helped fund her care. The current U.S. regime may want to go back in time, but we won’t let them.

9000 words down, somewhere around 30,000 words to go.

This weekend I will be locking myself away to work on Chapter 1, which will be a highlight reel of animals commonly found in north American cities.
Big news: I’m writing a book!!

I’ll be writing & illustrating a beginner’s guide to appreciating wildlife in cities/suburbs, & how all of us can make our neighborhoods better for those animals.

Thank you to my book agent @ericsmithrocks.bsky.social & the folks at Storey for believing in this book!
