I uplifted that targeted campaign against Avelo Airlines #onhere a few times. Each time, someone would get into my mentions to say that the organizing "would not do anything." Those people were once again wrong. Those activists won.

A real trip to have just finished reading DeBord’s Society of the Spectacle in the midst of… *gestures at all of the horrors*
Trump understands he has the power to construct reality. There's no truth. There's evidence (mutliple videos). There are frames (that he has the power to set or promote from his cadre of influencers). And there are interpretations that his audiences will make by looking thru frames at evidence.

This is the clarity we need.

A sitting Congresswoman using plain language to call murder murder.

More of this
ICE just murdered a legal observer in Minnesota.

She was driving away from the scene, not towards law enforcement, so any "self-defense" claims are bogus.

This is what a police state looks like – and Secretary Noem and President Trump are responsible.

Absolutely horrific details about an ICE shooting in Minneapolis.

A witness says a woman was trying to drive away from an ICE operation and the ICE agent "reached across the hood of the car and shot her in the face like three, four times."

Bovino was there.

Non-consensual image creation / "deep-fake porn" has been a problem for a while that the legal system has only just begun to grapple with but part of what makes the Grok thing much worse is that it's delivered instantly & directly into replies to punish women for publicly speaking or even existing.
X basically industrialized the creation of fake porn of women who don't consent. Others did it first, but Grok made it normalized and centralized: publicly visible, instantly creatable by anyone, regardless of who's being targeted and dehumanized. Only question now is will X suffer any consequences

And that's even aside from the CSAM side of things, which in a sane world would have shut the entire website down immediately and sent a whole lot of people to jail

This could actually be a golden age of radical public history. So many people are looking to better understand the antecedents to our current moment. We have good scholarship that can be shared with the public in myriad ways. Revive freedom schooling across the land.

Samuel Alito flew two flags used by insurrectionists.

Clarence Thomas' wife plotted to overturn the 2020 election.

Both justices refused to recuse themselves from SCOTUS cases related to the January 6th plot.

It's a stain on our nation that this has effectively been forgotten.

This is the kind of thing that the Founders explicitly designed our constitution to prevent; a president who has seized wealth for his own benefit without any intervention from Congress, which in our system is supposed to be the holder of the power of the purse.

Whether this was "well, actually" about imperialism, fragile egos, social media content, resources, or all of the above, the continued statements make it clear it is also about oil, whether in reality or marketing/justification. So any and all transportation people should be talking about that.

Five years ago today, I was a junior in college, starting a new class for my Ethics minor called "The Philosophy of Conspiracy Theories" taught by Prof. Ian Schnee. I paid less attention to the syllabus than normal, because as class started, insurrectionists were in the US Capitol building. 1/

i know this is all very basic and obvious, but it's maddening to watch the white house tell us we didn't see what happened right before our eyes—literally livestreamed for all to see. don't let them introduce doubt into what you know to be true. fuck them.

According to the White House, this is the "true" timeline of January 6th.

So @cantwell.senate.gov has a post out on the Trump actions and let’s just say it’s a disappointment. (See below.)

No condemnation. No statement of action that she wants Congress to take.

Do better.

President Trump’s actions today with Venezuela raise more questions than answers. Is America going to be involved in running and stabilizing Venezuela? Today's actions raise many questions about the stability of the region and our policy towards South America.
