I wasn't thrilled when BIll agreed to this debate, but it did provide us with this absolute banger of an exchange showing the difference between science and firewalled faith in nonsense.
A few years ago, Bill Nye the science guy debated creationist Ken Ham about evolution. The last question was "what would change your mind?"

Bill Nye said "Evidence."

Ken Ham said "Nothing can possibly change my mind about this."

I think about that a lot.

I can’t believe people in the room don’t push back. It doesn’t matter if he’s the president, part of holding him accountable is standing up to his bullying— especially if he’s doing it right in front of your face

Reminder that Kamala Harris absolutely dogwalked this demented old loser in the second debate & Dash Sulzberger wouldn't even endorse her.
NYT: In 2017, Mr. Trump’s scheduled events started at 10:31 a.m. on average. By contrast, Mr. Trump in his second term has started scheduled events in the afternoon on average, at 12:08 PM

Trump’s total official appearances have decreased by 39%

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

If PwC is signing off on their audits of Nvidia while someone is going full Andy Fastow, they're gonna meet Arthur Andersen in hell.

Being said, it's fucking incredible for a company be like well we're running a fine business, we're not Enron! Like okay thanks for clearing the LOWEST POSSIBLE BAR?
In the memo, “Nvidia also responds to claims that the ‘current situation is analogous to historical accounting frauds (Enron, WorldCom, Lucent) that featured vendor financing and SPVs [special purpose vehicles.)’”

Yes, we have issues and gripes. I certainly have mine. But I think they are solvable in the near term. MAGA, on the other hand, is in total disarray. And their problem - a malevolent, unpopular fool sinking deeper into dementia surrounded by clowns, is only going to get worse.

It's literally serving up the perfect conditions to run next year on a silver platter. It's incredible.
Democrats: Let’s reopen the government today, extend the health insurance subsidies for one year, then let the voters decide in the midterms if they want to extend them further or cancel them.

Republicans: HELL NO!!!

Critical insight here. Social media-led homogenization of thought has led pundits to think you need a one-size-fits-all approach to campaigns. WRONG, we were collectively reminded Tuesday.

This is a strange hack punditry, in which everything anyone does is the Democratic Party's fault. Dems' mistakes are their fault. Repubs' mistakes are the Dems' fault for not stopping them.

No party is perfect. But we should examine their actual actions. You can't learn anything from this punditry.
This isn’t true. I was there.

Zohran Mamdani says on NY1 he didn't get a congratulatory call from either Andrew Cuomo or Eric Adams last night.

He says he got a congratulatory call from Curtis Sliwa, though.

Being... a big tent.... is actually.... good??? 🤯
The factional grifters will hate this, but the Mamdani-Spanberger-Sherrill axis actually suggests the outlines of a broad, emerging Dem coalition organized around both anti-Trump *and* affordability politics, not a party bitterly divided against itself.
These big wins will embolden Dems to take on Trump's lawbreaking and show there's a price for GOP enabling of him. Folks hate to hear this, but normal patterns are asserting themselves: Liberalism isn't dead, Rs are likely to lose in 2026, and Trump is really unpopular, not a magical exception.
