And once again, a personal appeal if anyone knows a hay supplier in any county around Dublin/Wicklow, I’ve lost mine for the coming months (rain crisis) and only have about a 3,week supply left for a small equine herd 😳

imagine: you're an Alcatraz seabird, maybe some sort of gull, looking at the shore. you don't have much to worry about in terms of predation on your nearly-inhospitable island home. tourists visit frequently still, dropping food. it's great. hey what's that brown fuzzy thing emerging from the water

driving me insane that people don't understand that weather warnings and flood warnings are different. It's like asking a geographer about the history of the Roman empire; sure they might know about the various locations conquered but it's not their area of expertise
Minister James Browne said Met Éireann needs to make a 'judgement call' rather than solely relying on mathematical formulas when it comes to issuing weather warnings jrnl.ie/6940649
Housing Minister criticises Met Éireann for 'withholding information' on severity of floods
The flooding mainly affected Co Wexford, Co Wicklow, and south Dublin.

Imagine if there was an epidemic of pubs selling alcohol to children and instead of shutting the pubs responsible the government imposed a nationwide curfew on everyone under 16.
Sitting across the Oireachtas Children's Committee on online safety for children.

Very much getting the impression that a lot of politicians are reaching for the Under-16 ban. Momentum behind that rather than a deeper understanding of platforms, algorithms and any alternative view.

It's baffling to me how Ireland is only on 65.30% of our quota for this (see citizens-initiative.europa.eu/initiatives/...) given our apparently vehement support of Palestinians. If you've not signed yet, do it, and get 5 friends to do it too. eci.ec.europa.eu/055/public/#... #speirgorm

I keep thinking about this fact that his last words were are you okay and hers were I'm not mad at you and it feels like a weird coincidence but it's just a reflection of the fact that the people who are coming out to take care of their neighbors are good and the people who are after them are bad
His dying words were asking about the safety of someone next to him

By Saturday afternoon, some Trump admin. personnel had already begun scouring the internet and other resources trying to find information on Alex Pretti, including social media posts, that could tie him to what Team Trump call “extremists,” two sources familiar with the matter tell @zeteo.com

If I think about the fact this is even a question that has to be asked I think I'd pack it all in and go live in woods
Grok is being used to create sexualised images of women and child abuse material which are posted on X.

So, why is the Department of Education still posting images of children to X?

If Government Departments are going to continue to use X, can they at least stop posting images of children?

It's been there for over a week now! Genuinely quite mysterious at this stage

all day yday, there was a lamborghini parked on o connell street and when i was coming home from work there was a man in a sleeping bag in the middle of the footpath beside it, completely drenched from the rain, but sitting up telling people “if you give me €2 you can take a photo with me car”

A business with courage in their convictions when it comes to child welfare. Google ‘Ballymaloe child conviction’ to learn more.
Ballymaloe founder Darina Allen has blasted the Hot School Meals programme as “not fit for purpose” during an appearance before TDs this morning.

But Allen received pushback from some who pointed to children getting reliable meals thanks to the policy.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

For non-German speakers:

“Dear media, I can’t stand the headline "No agreement between the US and Denmark” any longer. If an armed man storms a bank, you don't run the headline: "Robber and cashier can't reach an agreement on money transfer." Stop framing imperial aggression as normal diplomacy.”
