Gov't Digital Service progression:
year 1: "Why y'all talk about procurement so much? How boring."
yr 2: "Man, procurement's a pain."
yr 3: "We should really consider doing something about procurement"
yr 4: "Holy crap there's nothing more important than solving procurement!"

This is incredibly offensive. To see the California Governor's office -- and a former san francisco politician! -- promote Reagan as an example of goodness + humanity is outrageous when it's widely recognized that his anti-gay and AIDS-phobic bigotry contributed to killing how many Californians?!
The presidency once served as a reminder of our common humanity. Ronald Reagan described its purpose as building "a nation composed of good and decent people."

San Francisco is having its first competitive congressional race in like 40 years. All* I want to know about the candidates is whether they will vote to #abolishICE.

The US Holocaust Museum being more outraged by Tim Walz saying that, like Anne Frank, children today are in hiding from armed agents of the state, than they are about the fact that children are in hiding from armed agents of the state, is why Holocaust remembrance culture is in crisis.

I don't want to hear another word about "reforming" ICE.

I want you to run in the midterms on removing every dollar of funding for ICE and impeaching every fucking administration official you can get your hands on.

Senate Democrats absolutely have to shut the govt down to stop this ICE insanity in the Twin Cities. This is not sustainable & cannot be normalized. Any Democratic vote to provide money to the thugs who are brutalizing this community is a grave betrayal to the people here. Accountability can't wait.

Given how often CSAM is used as an excuse for one erosion of privacy or another on the web even my prodigious capacity for cynicism is overcome by how extremely tepid the response has been to Elon's bot cranking out sexualized pix of young girls.

Arts & Entertainment: They used Van Halen and The Doors to capture Manuel Noriega. Does the lack of rock and roll involvement in the Maduro operation signal the decline of the genre? We interview 5 middle age white guys and one token woman to find out.

Waymos Are Parking In One- and Two-Hour Spots Around SF, and Car Owners Are Bound to Start Fuming About This
The next autonomous vehicle scandal likely to start causing some noise in the new year is this: idle Waymos parking in coveted curbside parking spaces while waiting to be hailed for their next ride.

Any time anyone suggests taxing these assholes more they always claim they're gonna run away but they never do because (relatively) high-tax places are honestly pretty great cause we use taxes to make them better.

But dipshits like the New York Times always fall for it.
Billionaires are considering cutting or reducing their ties to California by the end of the year because of a proposed ballot measure that could tax the state’s wealthiest residents.
A Wealth Tax Floated in California Has Billionaires Thinking of Leaving
It’s uncertain whether the proposal will reach the statewide ballot in November, but some billionaires like Peter Thiel and Larry Page may be unwilling to take the risk.
