Wow
It really seems like this administration is trying to eliminate the field of public health. MPHs and DrPHs will no longer be considered "professional degrees" by the DOE and, therefore, will face limits to accessing federal student loans.

My most woke opinion is that children are actually people with equal rights to participate in society, and if you spin out the logical implications of that, you realize they’re an insanely oppressed and politically marginalized class.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Let's try something new.

If you donate to a food bank and tell me how much and which one, I'll match your donation.

If it's less than $50, I'll round up.

Tag me, reply here, or DM if you prefer.

Why food banks? Because if we want to survive a general strike, we need to keep people fed.
Now is a really good time to donate to food banks, and do food runs for mutual aid groups. Also, do menstrual product runs.
I wonder how much food theft spikes with desperate people just trying to feed their families. I'm sure there will be a media panic about it.

White Billionaire donors just being replaced by White Billionaire philanthropists. Everyone wants to “low income countries to “prosper” but for their own gains. Our countries are not your testing grounds. #philanthropy
As old growth models falter, the Gates Foundation and, more recently, Open Philanthropy are testing new ways to help low- and middle-income countries prosper. They’re able to take risks, test ideas, and inform policy reforms that multilateral banks and bilateral donors often can’t.

Instead of providing #children with clean water, proper housing, and enough nutritious food, you do mass courses of antibiotics 💊 … of course this will create resistance??

A really excellent thread of examples from Dr Planey below about the cracks in AI as its costs are becoming more apparent to the public.

As a lawyer and an academic in global health and planetary health, these costs are simply so untenable for a just, effective, accountable, and equitable world.
