If 100,000 people on #Bluesky gave just $1, we could #FeedMinneapolis.

A dollar feeds a neighbor. Let’s do this.

Click below.
Minneapolis residents are facing a growing food crisis. Fear from ICE is keeping families—especially elders, parents, and the homebound from groceries.

Feed Minneapolis funds trusted local food shelves and kitchens, with a goal of feeding 10,000 people in 2 weeks.

Emily was the other front runner for girl names, and Peter for boy names.

They considered Emily Tiffany Avery, but realized that if you could waltz to it, the rhythm wasn’t working right.

Colleen

I was also eventually given “Catherine” as my middle name, and the intention was to call me Cat. It didn’t stick, though. I think Cat works, though, as an adult.

A short thread on job creation as a form of resistance. I don't have the resources to implement this, but someone does.
antisocial malcontents who actually support this are a limited resource, and the only source of growth in that population is new ones turning 18

there are not enough of them to staff the mass detention warehouses

people who are just desperate for work are the secondary recruitment targets

Hey, spaetzle-cooking veterans, which kind of #spaetzle maker do you use? So far, I've tried forming them by pinching them with my fingers and by squishing the dough through holes in a colander. It's a good thing I'm not a 19th century peasant lass on the marriage market. #cooking #KitchenTools.

"It's okay to brag in this supplemental. The admissions office put that question in their application as an invitation so they could see you brag right here."
“Yeah, unfortunately they’re allowed to do that”
Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work.

There are already brain swelling cases among the kids in the SC measles outbreak. Measles encephalitis can permanently disable and kill people. Now that there's a measles outbreak in the ICE concentration camps for children, it'll be happening there, too.

Minneapolis is trying out new forms of resistance. They're doing pop-up blockade block parties. This one is on Cedar and 34th, a main route into the city. They have a stereo, food & a fire. MPD is present but not interfering. Lots of honks of support. ICE agents have been reported detouring around.

My grandparents, who lost their first child to measles encephalitis ten years before the vaccine was developed, would have given anything for the safety antivaxxers are throwing away and trying to outlaw. Measles can kill, and it's an awful death. Please get vaccinated and vaccinate your children.
US measles cases this year already exceed the total for the whole of 2023 and 2024 combined, and it is only January. Yikes.
