Oh I have seen too many ppl cry over that post-coming out apology conversation scene and it is too early for ppl to get out there and be like "Are millennials really going to be the last generation with traumatic coming outs? Is coming out not bad anymore now?"

So on board with this. In general I find queer romances end “happy ever after” for many more people because love made the world healthier; in straight romances, (too oft) the FMC seems to get a tight castle of safety in a dangerous world; while MMC remains mean to the world even if kind to her
I have a theory that good stories fall into one of two categories: hollow you out (emotionally) or fill you up.
And I low key think that part of the allure of Heated Rivalry is it hollows you out AND fills you up.
