Le Guin's The Tombs of Atuan. I was maybe 12, home sick from school, and my mom picked it up for me at the library. She knew it was just what I needed. What Le Guin does with viewpoint, getting the reader to see around the main character's blind spots, is just stunning in that book.

You know the feeling: You learn about some appalling event that makes you want to punch the perpetrator’s ghost. There’s a professional who can help with that – at least, until new clients and targets pose dangers the ghost puncher never anticipated.

After yesterday's off-year elections in the US, I feel like I don't have to watch that yet, after all. Maybe in 2026.

That one and "Tribute to the Angels" are my favorites. I think a lot these days about the burnt tree with new blossoms opening on the scarred trunk.
