It's not just the St. Paul Doubletree.
The Intercontinental in downtown St Paul is also shutting for now.
According to the Pioneer Press, they're both operated by an indigenous tribe, the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe.

FYI, ICE has been arresting Native Americans.

No one is surprised that Vance fell in line. He's a toady. But let's stop repeating this myth that Vance was ever a credible antiwar figure. He has backed every illegal attack that Trump has ordered from Yemen to Iran to Venezuela.
NEW: JD Vance supported US strikes on Iran this week and reasoned that Trump had to enforce his own red line, per sources. It was a surprise role reversal for a politician who built his identity on opposing Middle East wars with a loose connection to core US interests

From an optics perspective... the protesters being the ones waving the US flag while Bovino et al looks like every awful nazi inspired movie we've ever seen... hats off to Minnesotans.
Greg Bovino was seen earlier today at the Minneapolis ICE facility dressed in a very nazi-inspired outfit. They don’t even hide anymore.

It would be funny, if it wasn’t so infuriating, that this is the second time people have elected Donald Trump and then almost immediately been like “wait what the fuck we hate this guy”
Trump’s net job approval rating right now is actually lower than it was at this point in his first term

The Hmong community in America is here predominantly because they were our allies in the Vietnam War, and we lost so they had to leave their homes and move here.
Seeing reports that ICE agents in Minnesota are targeting Hmong. As a Viet we know the Hmong as allies and also a culture that promotes rugged individualism loyalty. I sincerely hope that the ICE agents going after them eat shit.

Went to the Crandell Theatre for a special screening of the new Avatar, followed by a Q&A with Stephen Lang - Col. Quaritch himself.

I enjoyed the film, with some quibbles - James Cameron has directed another incredible spectacle that immerses viewers in a beautiful alien world.

Watched the 1970 film "Diary of a Mad Housewife," starring Carrie Snodgress as a woman stuck in an unpleasant marriage to a huge jerk. This is an abrasive, uncomfortable, frustrating film - but also something of a masterpiece about a woman who is insulted and condescended to by everyone.

Since then
