And where reputable journalists and thinkers go, so do elected officials.

I’ve been getting asked lately about a more serious + systemic migration to Bluesky among electeds.

Idk the answer but it highlights how much of a breaking point misinfo & throttling has become for Twitter(& other platforms)
Bluesky is winning because both twitter and threads have gone out of their way to make their platforms inhospitable to reputable journalists and news. @kattenbarge.bsky.social reports:

And he failed, further emphasizing how unfit he is for this moment. LBJ would not have stood for this.

At least by caving the democrats confirmed what I’ve always said about them, making me right, which is at least a small consolation.

What a joke.

Goodfellas, but Hutts.
ironically what makes star wars stuff best is when it is 'something else, but also star wars'

e.g. Andor, a British political thriller but also Star Wars
the Mandalorian, an episode-of-the-week Western but also Star Wars (when it was good)

These people need to be held accountable when this is over. We can’t wash our hands of it or it will always come back.
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

Wow do I wish anyone but Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries were running the Democratic Party. The Republicans are taking away food and travel at Thanksgiving, the ads write themselves.

Every time I see Claudia Sheinbaum’s name in the news I think “Is that my aunt? Do I know her?” And never “Oh right, the president of Mexico.”

If the sandwich don’t split, you must acquit
Defense says that the officer's testimony was "very questionable" because he said the sandwich both exploded in spray of mustard and onions and also landed in its wrapper on the ground.

Turns out Zohran has not made busses here in suburban Portland free, just fyi to everyone else.

Tell you what, Trump sending people’s kids to die in Venezuela to distract them from not being able to afford food is not going to be the winning strategy they think it will be.

At this point, anyone—a university, a law firm, a corporation, a Democrat—bending the knee to Trump is doing it because they want to, not because of any political reality.

My professional political opinion is that people who want to stay in power should not take glee in their constituents losing jobs and children going hungry.
Looks like the Dems will pick up 12 seats in the VA House of Delegates, which will go from 51-49 to 63-37 D-R. That's an honestly shocking result.

Very glad the democrats have managed to elect a *checks notes* former CIA officer as governor of Virginia.

I should not be forced to care so much about who is going to be elected mayor in America’s fourth best city.

I just hate these people so much.
A super PAC supporting former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the New York mayoral election is running a late ad that depicts Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani in front of video of the Twin Towers crashing down on 9/11.
Pro-Andrew Cuomo super PAC depicts Zohran Mamdani in front of Twin Towers attack in late ad
Cuomo and others have criticized Mamdani for appearing with Hasan Piker, who made 2019 comments that "America deserved 9/11." Mamdani has previously disavowed the comments.

I get sad when I see some people have died before the end of the current political nightmare, sad that they didn’t get to see we made it out. And then some people I don’t.

One of my biggest sources of disillusionment is that this hasn’t happened yet.
if there was a rich person with the will, you could build the most incredible news organization that has ever existed just from the wreckage of this year alone.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
