¡Ya hemos jugado a Crisol: Theater of Idols!

Game companies should release their old proprietary engine tools.

What's the harm in releasing your stuff you used to make games with on like, the Dreamcast? Or like, Bioware's old engines?

Video game companies are way too greedy about dead, useless shit (like IP they're never going to use ever).

Sorry for bringing content from the other site, but this is just too good.
This is the unhinged way they use to draw text that somehow make it very hard for them to draw text on a screen at 60 frames per second:

It is kinda funny that Isaac Newton basically accidentally discovered physics while trying to work out how to do alchemy, while physicists accidentally discovered alchemy while working on high-level physics.

I have been warning for this for literally ever since AI became a thing. They want to own creativity and bind you with licenses.

Don't get too dependent on AI, this is their endgame.

To those who are claiming that it'd be too cruel and extreme for the EU to cut off American tourist visas now (or to otherwise sanction or inconvenience us Americans in any way)....

You're REALLY not gonna like what happens if the madman Trump is permitted to set off a hot war with Europe.

I mean you could slap shit together and eventually get it to work, but it might take a while.

And more importantly, you have to know what is possible to add easily in the first place. You need to knowledge to know what can and can't be done and how difficult it may be.

The past few days I added using the mic for secret words, and reading a CD drive to give corresponding cards, and I did this as an easter egg afterthought.

It took no time at all, and this is because I know how to code. These possibilities are available because my engine is custom and I know how.

I get that coders can often be assholes, but just because coders share stuff online to be borrowed and used doesn't make their work less valuable than drawing or writing.

There are whole worlds of design possibilities that open if up you know how to code.

One thing I've learned from indie game dev, is there is some massive disrespect out there for the art of coding

There are lots of people who think "just slap shit together until it works" or "ai slop is fine if it's in code" because engines make it easier now

Then they complain about optimization
