Today I learned that Red Square in Moscow is like Hollywood Boulevard, with guys walking around dressed as Lenin and Stalin posing for photos.

also due to big personal life event and moving from living with my ex-partner back to the west coast, my only source of income this past year have been Ko-fi and commissions.

Here’s what I hope we get from Nolan’s Odyssey movie: I hope we get more mythology movies. And not ones like the Rock’s Hercules movie where they bring the fantastical elements down to earth and make them realistic. I want giants and gods and monsters. I want Circe turning men to pigs.

The way stuff gets around on bsky is more like tumblr (reblogs and tags) than an algorithm pushing posts.
Like tumblr, hashtags are used for looking through people's work. Press and hold a tag to get options

Everyone's dropping tips for people making the switch to Bsky but I'll drop a tip that applies to artists moving to any new platform:
Don't be embarrassed about your older art, and treat them like a backlog! You don't have to start completely fresh by only posting newer art.

For further context twitter added a button that allows users to generate ai images using existing art posts from artists. It removes glaze and it basically reskins the artwork by using the existing work as a base. Twitter is no longer a safe space for art
