As it's the first day of Advent I thought I'd start #MyPhotoAdvent2025, a photo a day of my favourite captures of 2025... with an explanation in Alt Text of my reason for choosing it.

I chose this because it's the first Weasel (Mustela nivalis) I have ever captured. Taken early January 2025, through our patio doors early in the morning, it was less that 3m (10ft) from where I was standing ! it ran off virtually immediately after I took this. It still visits but I've yet to get more shots of it.

Took quite a lot of images over the last week so difficult deciding on which to post for #ShareMondays2026 but I just adored the icy Grand Union Canal and golden reflections of the trees :)

Another of St.Bees beach, Cumbria at low tide late afternoon last week (29/12/2025).
All that remains of the wooden groyne (helps to manage coastal erosion) suggests that other days at the coast are not so calm.
