You see here a canal behind my home,with on both side trees and they are reflected in the water. On this little canal have my kids learns how to skate in the winter long time ago. And it is still my escape place for some peace.

This vibrant photograph captures the spectacular bracts of orange bougainvillea in full bloom. The papery, heart-shaped bracts range from deep coral-orange to soft peachy-pink, overlapping in brilliant profusion. At the center of each cluster, the true flowers emerge, tiny, tubular white blooms with delicate yellow centers, almost inconspicuous against the flamboyant bracts that surround them. The translucent quality of the bracts is beautifully evident here, with sunlight illuminating their delicate veining and creating subtle gradations of color. Green foliage peeks through in the background, providing contrast to the warm sunset hues. Named after Louis Antoine de Bougainville (1729-1811): Bougainvillea was named after the French admiral and explorer Louis Antoine de Bougainville, who led the first French circumnavigation of the globe (1766-1769). The plant was discovered by the expedition’s botanist, Philibert Commerçon, in Brazil in 1768. Commerçon named the genus in honor of his commander, though it was actually Commerçon’s assistant Jeanne Baret, the first woman to circumnavigate the globe, who is credited by some accounts with the actual discovery of the specimen. The plant became a botanical sensation in Europe, bringing a touch of tropical brilliance to gardens worldwide.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
