Thanks Janet 💙 Most place names in Scotland have a long story behind them. For example 'Rannoch' is Scots Gaelic and means (depending on the interpretation) 'Water' or 'Bracken'

If you are heading to East Anglia keep us posted... we live (it would appear) in roughly the same neck of the woods as Lizzie, it would be great to meet you and Lizzie in the flesh rather than as electrons 😀

🤣 I've learned to live with my deficiencies.. I'd hate to inflict them on an innocent bystander... 😆

Don't worry Alan... I'm 67 going on 68, lived in the countryside for at least 40 of those years and have seen a Kingfisher twice, at a distance, in that entire time... I am Kingfisher Kryptonite in human(ish) form 🤣

Thanks Lizzie, we won't becoming up to the North Coast this time (it's a short trip), but we are over due a visit to that area, so possibly next year - Jude (my lovely Mrs) has a health issue that hopefully is in the process of being sorted - but we can't plan much till it is 🙁

We're staying at Winterton-on-Sea which is close to the seal colony at Horsey Gap... it used to have a nice cafe by the beach, sadly it was washed away by winter storms a couple of years ago

I'm off to the Norfolk coast next week... hopefully seals and seabirds to be seen... plus a couple of very fine pubs to be visited in case of inclement weather (I may be praying for rain 🤣)

Another temptation might be that there are Golden Eagles to be seen (if you are lucky) 😀

Thanks Rob 😀Rannoch Moor is a beautiful place when the weather is good... when it's not, it is incredibly bleak... luckily the cosy café at the rail station serves lovely cake even when the weather is bad 🍰
