This article made me actually sob. Please read it if you are considering delaying or skipping vaccines for your kids.
My most authoritarian opinion is that the MMR vaccine should be mandatory, with only medical (not religious or floofy) exemptions allowed. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

this is yet another example of DHS employees literally doing the kind of thing that would get your entire family bloodline erased in morality tales from medieval times, like, bread and salt shit
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

DHS is shutting down because it refuses to obey the law. They are tear-gassing schools, killing American citizens, and disappearing legal immigrants. Democrats shouldn’t fund an out of control ICE.

It would be embarrassing under any circumstances to spend a year on this reactionary horseshit, but to have spent the year in which graduate students were sent to concentration camps for op-eds and the federal govt launched a no hold barred attack on academic freedom is just beyond

- herpes simplex virus causes cold sores, genital herpes, infections in babies, deadly meningitis
- shingles virus causes an intensely painful disease

A view from on the ground of what’s happening to all the people swept up in raids.
Legal status doesn’t matter: if you exceed ICE’s melanin threshold, you get snatched. It is ethnic cleansing. There is no other word for it.

The news has shown you video of these often violent detentions. What you don’t see is what happens to these individuals after.

I’ve had a front row seat.

But seriously, folks, the real story is that this administration first swore this was an attack from a Mexican cartel. They will say literally anything and aren't experiencing consequences dire enough to make them stop.

Let’s give him the benefit of the doubt here, and say that he actually meant airplanes.

There is a pretty fundamental difference between showing your ID in a security line to enter an airport, and having armed, masked men burst out of poorly driven SUVs and demand your ID because you are brown.
Markwayne Mullin defends "show me your papers": "If you're here legally, there's nothing to hide. Most people already are walking around with a government-issued ID, meaning your Real ID or your driver's license. If you go board a train here, you gotta show your ID."
