Last night I grabbed Save Room because it was on sale for the Switch and a puzzle game built around Resident Evil style inventory organization is definitely my jam.
I kinda chewed through like half of the levels already but it's got my mind buzzing over sequel possibilities. 😁

The UK government promised to increase fuel duty every year to spend more money on green infrastructure (bus/bike lanes, pedestrianising) and every year they have refused to do it to pander to motorists.

Lot of replies on this one saying “you dodged a bullet” and uh no I’m pretty sure I got hit by a very large bullet that made me bleed a lot and nearly die instead of I guess the apparently much worse bullet of “making 240k/yr after bonus”
3 years ago today, Riot Games offered me a job making more money than I ever thought I’d make in my life. I had 19 interviews over 2.5 months to get it. Partner and I were moving to LA for it. I put in notice at my job and apartment.
2 weeks later they rescinded the offer due to “headcount issues”.

They did not tell me why or what happened. My recruiter’s boss simply had a video call with me where he told me the position was no longer available and they would “try” to find me something else. No one from his team would ever contact me again, even after multiple followups on my part.

The best way journalists can support indie games is to cover more than whatever the current indie hits/darlings of the moment are. Games like Hades, Blue Prince, and Silksong do not need help with visibility, but discoverability is the biggest challenge facing many indie devs today.
