A Sword Would Be Easier
I now understand all those fantasy epics where the protagonist’s motivation is that they made a promise to somebody on their deathbed…

Everyone… I just need to rent a place to replace our tent. My family has fallen very sick because of it, Don’t forget us even with the ceasefire it’s an illusion to divert attention from us. Our suffering has worsened, the situation is extremely dire and I’ve lost everything except my trust in you.
My dearest friend set up the weekly and monthly donation options so that we can stay alive after a tent was destroyed just 100 meters away from us last night. The sand covered our faces while we were still alive.

I’m deeply depressed and can’t keep begging one by one for help anymore.

And now I'm sneezing. This is less my own doing.

Not a full review of Yelen & Yelena but some reflections on one element i liked and my relationship with the "romance" genre as an arospec person.

📚💙
Ok something that i liked about Yelen & Yelena was that it featured a specifically an aro/allosexual relationship.
Interestingly it followed many of the same beats as "romance" books and erotica which always read more to me as all about lust and not love. And can therefore be very annoying to me. 🧵

I've a favour to ask of my cisgender UK followers. It'll take you 5 minutes!

Please use this template to write to your MP.

I know, I know... AGAIN. But this is to counter the letter-writing campaign undertaken by Sex Matters, who want the awful EHRC trans-exclusionary Code to be rushed through.

(Compelling bad ideas are annoyingly sticky of course, even when well rebutted. But that's not unique to EP by a long shot.)

Anyway, read the paper, marvel at the lack of actual good data on femininity and fertility. Consider doing the critical test research yourself?

This is beautiful and powerful.

The metal scene can be rack at times but sometimes it's sublime. Heavy music saves lives.

Had a great weekend learning and dancing tango, seeing old friends, and eating tasty food.
I am bloody knackered now but it currently feels worth it! (Did i take a single picture? No i did not)

All I want is a humble castle on the Irish coast, a crackling fire, a vintage mystery novel, an emotional support raven, a raging thunderstorm, a few purring cats, endless cups of tea, and a scandalous amount of freshly-baked pastries.

There's something in Watson, as illustrated here, of the rightward turn around the globe, that insists on the knowledge of one's gut, despite a paucity of evidence for gut-knowledge. Watson had infinitely more basis for relying on his gut than the rest of us, yet he still didn't have any real basis.

Finding it difficult to find info on donating to relief efforts in the Philippenes following Typhoon Tino/Kalmaegi especially from the UK?

I've found some local organisations, but anybody got good info on international contributions?

Still feeling the grunge vibes. It's Pearl Jam and maybe a bit of Temple of the Dog tonight.

(No matter how much i get into my weird math rock, prog metal nonsense, i always come back to grunge)
Ok tonight's throwback music obsession is Soundgarden.

I started the day with a migraine, the lecture topic was trauma and I'm having a PMDD day so I'm very fractious.
I think i need an award for making it through to the end of the day.

Right now i have the energy to go to uni do my placement and very little else.
I also want to be working on my non fiction book and maybe learning basic italian.

So why. Why on earth. Has by brain decided that actually i should do is take a fiction writing course, and start writing a novel.
