I realised that despite owning a physical copy I've never actually read To Be Tought if Fortunate by Becky Chambers. It's beautiful, and I'm glad i picked it up for a "reread" yesterday. Though now I'm wondering which book of hers i mixed it up with!

Urrrghhh turns out actually reading the guidance document is helpful instead of just avoiding the essay and fretting about it for weeks.

In the UK there is a strong "tradition" of spray painting the words pedo and nonce on the house of anybody even hinted at being a pedophile in the media. If they're working class.

The fact that that hasn't been happening routinely in recent months really stands out to me.

In case it's not clear this includes the redacted Epstein files, the emails and transcripts. It's not just photographs. You personally so not need to pour through every detail. You can know they exist and condemn them just fine without that.
genuinely i cannot believe that i have to say this but you do not need to - and absolutely should not - expose yourself to CSAM material in order to “witness” the crimes of the elite.

this does nothing except make vicarious trauma, moral injury, and potentially places you in legal jeopardy.

There is absolutely nothing to be gained from doing this. It is enough to say "the wealthy and powerful abused children and need to be prosecuted"

New post: LABOUR'S SECTION 28 IS HERE - ACT NOW.

I explain how the Labour government's proposed revisions to the guidance on "keeping children in education" are designed to erase trans children in England. But it's not a done deal - there is plenty we can do to oppose this.
Labour’s Section 28 is here – act now
In May 1988, the Conservative government introduced Section 28. This legal measure outlawed support for “homosexuality as a pretended family relationship” across Britain, especially in …

This isn't just a message for Britain, this is a message for all western countries who all have the same problem! Mainly billionaires sucking the life out of economies for their own greed!

Counsellor training is bloody brutal when it comes to self examination, and vulnerability and PPD and I'm not sure i'd trust anybody who didn't find it bloody brutal.
(Itself something to be subject to self examination)

UK folks: if we care about what is happening in the US with ICE, we must take steps to push back against anti-immigrant and refugee policy by our own government.

Fill out this consultation. It really doesn't take long. Amnesty have put together a super clear and helpful guide to follow.

Had a dream that was trying to teach me French. Like specifically it was my brain trying to teach me French which is weirdly meta to start with.
Except i don't speak French, so I really don't know what my brain thought it was doing.

Got a new chain, was lightly chastised by the bike mechanic who fitted it for the condition of my old chain. Which was entirely fair.
Got home, cup of tea, fell asleep watching Poirot.
Guess who's bike chain broke on the way to the train station, so had to trudge the rest of the way on for in the rain pushing their bike, missed their train, the next train was delayed, and now has to trudge uphill in the rain to get to the clinic?

At least i don't have to push the bike up hill

Recently got back in touch with my great aunt, who's in her 80s.
I couldn't remember if she knew of my name change and we had lost touch for a few years ago i signed the email Name (deadname) for clarity.
Her replies were all to Name. No fuss.

She managed because she wanted to.
Baffled by transphobes insisting that the name on your birth certificate is Your True Name Forever when it was common in my grandparents' generation to just...pick a name you like and use that, nbd. I literally found out both of my grandma's birth certificate first names FROM THEIR OBITUARIES.
