I have an aversion to accumulating stuff so part of me desparately wants a curated book advent calendar (curated so there's no things I'll definitely hate). But that's a lot of stuff. Which is why i always go for food based. If i could find a vegan cheese calendar I'd be happy

I share this very specific grudge. But i also say it should be 24 days. (24 + bonus treat is acceptable, but advent is 24days in my book)

I've gone for another coffee advent this year (from Yawn, i tried Pact last year and loved it). But I'm kind of wishing for the Bonne Maman. Who am i kidding I'm always wishing for daily jars of jam.

Ok I've only skimmed the article but it immediately put me in mind of On All Fours, which is technically a bisexual novel but somehow left me bewildered.

The nutritional value of canned foods is slightly lower than that of its fresh raw counterpart. But its negligible. And once a fresh item has spent time being transported, sat on shelves and in your fridge and then is cooked, it's nutritional profile has also changed.

I'm just starting Death in the Arctic by Tom Hiddle and honestly I'm a little giddy with excitement because this is the sort of premise i adore.

It's for our community book club so i need to finish it by Sunday and have just had the group's signed paperback passed to me

It's bizarre that the focus of this campaign and the reporting on it is on Brianna's social media usage and mental health and not on the radicalization and violent transphobia that lead to two teenagers stabbing her. It's bizarre that her mother isn't more concerned about violent transphobia.

"This is physical longing" and the differences between love, lust, companionship and desire. They can have their cosy moments. They can flirt. They can fuck. And it all just makes a lot more sense. Nobody is pretending it's anything else or that romance is more esteemed than sexual attraction. 🧵

Relationships framed as a great romance, falling utterly in love, but that are actually just infatuation, lust or obsession are not my thing at all. They grate on my nerves and i find it difficult to buy into the story as a romance. So when a story specifically says "this is lust" 🧵

Most disabled people i know have been fighting for years. It's just so often unseen because activist spaces and the common perception of activism are disableist as fuck and often not accessible to disabled people.
