Unebelievably, I am older than Nige Fartrage. I grew up with Alf Garnet, Love Thy Neighbour and Bernard Manning, on TV almost every night.

At no point then – or since – have I made "jokes" about gassing Jews or that black people are unworthy (or worse).

He was – and is – misogynist and racist.

Two key differences, I think, have so far saved the UK from full-on MAGA madness: our relationship to religion and our regulation of guns. We should be fully prepared for the far right to start prodding both. ~AA

🎯 Davey is spot on. "We can have criticism of the BBC, but within that, we need to recognise how valuable an institution it is [and how] precious to our country. And that's one of the reasons why people like President Trump and Nigel Farage, want to undermine the BBC." 👏🏽~AA

I’ve written to Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage urging them to condemn Donald Trump’s attack on the BBC.

The BBC belongs to Britain, not Trump. We must defend it together.

First the likes of Farage said we needed to leave the EU. Now they’re coming for the ECHR.

Paul Kohler MP: "It feels like Brexit déjà vu with the same hollow promises of taking back control, the same disregard for facts, the same blindness to consequence."

Just came across the “bean soup theory” & feel resonance.
Someone shared a bean soup recipe online & people commented ‘I don’t like beans’ & ‘can I substitute the beans’.
It’s now become a byword for individualism & the self-centred internet. Not everything is about you.

• Has no democratic structure
• Is not a meritocracy
• Is a Farage vanity project
• Has no policies
• Is not a professional outfit

Glad these people are organising. There's something so dystopian about the idea of ubiquitous AI-generated 'art' and Spotify are pushing us there. FWIW if you're thinking of ditching Spotify but aren't ready to ditch streaming music, Qobuz is pretty excellent.
