This fucking guy.
I saw this up in Manchester, right next to a busy tram stop in the city centre. Bravo to whoever is responsible.

Have you ever read the copypasta about "respect" vs. "respect"? It really does sum him up well.

Not my normal kind of post, but I was on a walk today and while commenting on how clear the view was we noticed an interesting-looking splotch in the distance. Turns out it was the Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank, 60km away to the South.

I'm a few days late, but I compained. My letter, if anyone wants to steal it. It's a nice round 2000 characters:

And this has been up for the last few weeks. A simple, respectful tribute.

Lancashire here. Balmy, slightly hazy and, yes, a moon so bright you can clearly see your own shadow.

I don't know for sure that these special Unicode character sets were designed specifically for the purpose of imitating old-timey playbills but they certainly channel that certain utter clusterfuck rich-kid-in-a-sweetshop method of typeface selection that seemed to prevail at the time.

I'm at the Anne Frank museum in Amsterdam. Chilling, but it's wonderful to think that such an atrocious thing could never happen again. Yes siree, no possibility of the worst of humanity being repeated in the 2020s, just as the 1940s fades from living memory. Just not possible. At all. Nope. Never.

I've never had an LNER breakfast, but I'm in Poland at the moment and let me tell you: PKP knows breakfast.

Same. I spent some time in Vienna last year and was also impressed by how livable the place is. I spent a lot of time chatting to locals in a coffee shop on Helmut-Zill-Park in Favoriten and they were aware - and very proud - of the quality of public infrastructure.

The battle to keep Christmas alive for the youngest member of my family has taken an extreme twist, thanks to yours truly. "How did Santa know to deliver my gifts to your house, Uncle RMUK?" "Dunno, kid, but it looks like the fat bastard dropped some paperwork that might explain a few things..."
