'The BBC’s travails over the Panorama documentary are a sad parable of our contemporary political madnesses. Primarily, they illuminate the continued grip of our political discourse by an increasingly fevered right-wing information ecosystem.'

"The BBC is in deep peril. Donald Trump’s terms include the kind of apology and admission that will be hard to give – and he wants compensation. That means licence fee payers' money going to Trump. A spectacularly bad look." — Krishnan Guru-Murthy

No doubt, Trump will respond in his usual measured fashion.

Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

Let us simply not check that figure after they stuck most of the BBC in the US behind a paywall a few months ago to increase revenue at the expense of British soft power and influence.
Nowhere in the hysterical pile-on against the BBC in the British press has anyone mentioned that BBC News now has 77 million viewers & listeners in the US and has established itself as the second most trusted news source there.

Oh, I love this. A new species of sea anemone was discovered recently that parks itself on top of a hermit crab shell like a hat. It seems to feed partly off the crab's faeces, but it also excretes a hard shell that extends the crab's home. In return, it's carried around the seafloor like a king.

True of so many commentators on the Right.
The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

New piece from me.
