Well this thing seems to be getting popular. Intro post(s) time!

Professionally, I'm a staff reliability engineer (#SRE) at PagerDuty, where my interests lie in #LearningFromIncidents, #HumanFactors and safety.

Personally... (1/2 - cat pictures to follow)
well this is going well. (it eventually let me in, and it already had my birth date anyway.)

In honor of the Big Game and its mostly bad ads, I give you my favorite Superbowl ad from the dotcom boom: "Cat Herders".

Also note that it was a *Superbowl* ad for an *IT consultancy* (Electronic Data Systems, founded by none other than Ross Perot). What an era.

I don’t understand why you’d spend Super Bowl ad money to advertise the general concept of Pokémon

That last Pokemon commercial wasn't even for a specific game, just the general concept of Pokemon. It was like those Jesus commercials but, like, for Pokemon. #SuperBowl

The AI ads have ground me down so much that when there was an ad for just the concept of Pokemon, I wanted to give it 500 Clios.

Curling club scoreboards look like so, and the number on the card is the END. in the board below, red scored 1 in the first end, yellow scored 3 in the 2nd end, red scored 1 more in the 3rd end...

this way you only have to have one card per end, instead of a bunch of zeros, ones, and so on. 🥌➿

the magic of the Muppets is that there are two fourth walls. they constantly break the one that reminds the audience they are performers. they NEVER break the one that reminds the audience they are puppets. this dynamic is the key to their entire comedy style
MY KIDS: so why are there muppets in the AUDIENCE

ME: THE CONCEIT!! IS THAT THEY'RE PUTTING ON A VARIETY SHOW!!! IN A WORLD WHERE MUPPET AND HUMAN COEXIST!!! YOU ARE WATCHING A DOCUMENTARY!! FILMED!! IN REAL TIME!!!

They should use curling club style scoreboards for the Olympics just to confuse people.
