General rule for all game-critical UI and text: if you personally think it's obnoxiously large, make it slighty larger than that.
Kids, if you're making a game and want to run it on a steamdeck or switch

your text size needs to be bigger

no, bigger

c'mon coward, bigger!

what is this, A GAME FOR ANTS? BIGGER

I hope that second sentence means
'...and I have always been backing everything important up'

and not

'so *now* I am backing everything important up'

because if it's the latter... *waggles finger like T-1000*

"The secret fear of the morally depraved is that virtue is actually common, and that they’re the ones who are alone."
Last week in Minnesota, I watched ordinary people risk their lives to protect their neighbors. In the process, they not only won a significant—though not final—victory against authoritarianism, they proved virtually every MAGA social theory wrong. (gift link) www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

Would I miss it if the internet disappeared tomorrow? Of course but I'd also vote for it to go.

GC version with bongos is sublime. Once you grasp the combo/scoring, it's pure flow-state (or the pursuit of it).

It is a very strange beast! Quite a weird first playthrough, it didn't reveal itself fully until post-game, but the DLC has elevated it to priceless gem for me.

Still not into it *quite* as much as I love Jungle Beat, but surprisingly close.

Today I noticed the bongos in #Bananza.

They didn't have to put the bongos in.
Or give them a little start button.
Or make them bouncy!?
They didn't have to add an extra bongo track in the audio that comes in when you're near.

But they did.

Just got boxes of final US and UK editions of my book. I'm so thrilled about this, I truly worked so hard on it.

I'll split it if we can also go a little further (Wales) and pick up my games.

Although I guess not the carts, as only CDs will handle the various lengthy underwater bits.

Ah, forget it.

Wondered if I'd be able to share more from the guides but to be honest the boxart (or just the name!) is way more inspiring than these particular guides, which are a little on the dry side, pretty data heavy.

Then perhaps I can assist! Some shots from the official guide book.

I've overhauled my puzzle level generation so a level is now "grown" like cell tissue in a triangle tessellation. New elements can be inserted anywhere, and the whole level deforms to make room. This makes it easier to control topology and create paths that loops around areas.

Wonder what AI discourse would look like if big tech had the wits and humility to just go "this is an LLM, it's really good at associating and extrapolating representations of data" rather than "here is the next evolutionary step in intelligence, we don't know if it will save or destroy our species"

Kyoto?
Snyoto more like!
(This 'joke' works better when spoken, but still only questionably worth posting.)

This is north Kyoto, not central Kyoto which has no settled snow at time of writing. Please enjoy the photo anyway... or... wait.... the snowto?
(sorry.)

Most laserbeaks (and ravages, rumbles, frenzies) met the ignominous fate of being taped over by their owners trying to record e.g. A-Ha's second single from the radio.
