I hope someday we defeat fascism and in the far future, No Kings Day is celebrated as a federal holiday, and little children leave out dance mixtapes and cookies for the Resistance Frog, who leaves pocket Constitutions in their shoes.

Minnesotans are trying to protect their neighbors and city, and are choosing their tactics in order to do so. We aren’t all troops in some larger war. We’re not the left’s reinforcements. We’re defending our own people.

There appears to be a widespread category error being made, where people who regard themselves as being in a decades-long ongoing war with the government seem to think Minnesotans have now joined the war and should fall in beside (or perhaps behind) them. But that’s not how most of US see it.

Like.... to be blunt the whole point is to trigger a flight or hide response from those who are likely to be targeted by ICE. The alerting them *is* the harm reduction. 30 seconds can me the difference between escaping and a one way ticket to a hell prison.

It's an op. The whistles work too well so they have to shut it down bsky.app/profile/marg...
Another question I came here with was: how effective are the whistles and honking? Does it stop abductions? And the answer is, surprisingly to my cynical self, yes, and often. I have talked to so many people who have successfully interrupted kidnappings.

Ugh. The main anti-ICE group in Washington which has 44k followers on Facebook and has been going around to communities promoting classes is now promoting this anti-whistle nonsense for "harm reduction" reasons as well.

If there weren't any people willing to put on masks and set fires, then DHS would have to PAY somebody to do it.
So really, helping enable the Regime cancelling elections represents a real savings to the taxpayers.

The resistance that we are putting up in the Twin Cities is non-ideological. Our resistance is not because of political affiliation. It's because we have a strong sense of right/wrong and we see our government terrorizing our immigrant neighbors, and communities of color. And we wont stand for it.

If random masked men are setting fires in your community, I think you should feel free to film them. Especially if dozens of other people and several national news crews are filming them. They are not "allies," they're arsonists. Grow up.

Protests succeed when they are open, en masse and everyone can see that the protesters aren't some scary masked mercenaries but ordinary citizens standing side by side. Fear, paranoia, hiding from the cameras - that's basically the fascists talking.

Yes, the demand here in Minneapolis is not for total war against police, or for revolution. It is that ICE, which is ruining this city, leave immediately, so we can go back to our lives.

That’s the reason for the scale of the opposition and its unanimity. The problem is simple; so is the solution.
I think this post really exemplifies the liberal mindset.

The liberals see the evil actions of the state and want it to stop affecting them and their community.

They want to return to the days of regular police with judicial warrants disappearing these people, not the disappearing apparatus gone.
This is an extremely clarifying comment: these people think that this is somehow their war and they’re mad that regular folks are fighting it. That’s not what’s happening. Minnesotans are rallying to ensure their neighbors can’t be stolen in secret. It’s not even ideological.

It's absurd for activists to say "I've been doing this for 20 years." No, you were not responding to mass ICE occupations of cities, ordered by a guy who wants to cancel elections, for 20 years. It's a way of doing the old "both sides are the same, we were always fascist, Trump is nothing new."

I had assumed "Antifa!" rantings were more done for Fox News ratings and by Trump and his most Fox-pilled inner circle. I assumed that most actual intelligence types rolled their eyes at it.

This definitely suggests the opposite: DHS really is treating an apartment as HQ of an "Antifa Leader."
🚨 Documents leaked to me reveal a federal watchlist of American protesters suspected of being Antifa - including its supposed leader.

One Department of Homeland Security document says a 29-year-old resident of Portland "is the leader of Antifa":

Feds Identify “Leader of Antifa”
The list they're creating says so, anyway

No, we don’t need violent tactics, scare quotes or otherwise. “Why can’t you just stick to your peaceful nonsense and let us burn things?” Because the consequences will fall on my city and my neighbors. If you try to start something like that, I will try to stop you.
But that's literally what Will is doing. Both "violent" and non violent tactics are needed in movements like this. If he doesn't want to participate in the more rowdy actions, then he shouldn't, but he should shut the fuck up and not interfere.

I remember a year ago people going "Well he can't actually deport 20 million people, the bureaucracy couldn't keep up, it would take too long." And I was like yeah, he'll just do it illegally, without the legal procedures. That's what dictators are like.
ICE is running a “conveyor belt” of illegally detained Minnesota families.

Agents are arresting entire families with legal status and immediately shipping them off to Texas to deny them legal representation and avoid the federal courts in Minnesota.

The cruelty is endless.

There are people in the US who don't know what's going on in Minnesota.

This makes the Jan 23, 2026 action the largest strike in Minnesota History, and depending on which number you use, 3rd in American History after the massive national strikes of 1919, or the Great Railroad Strike of 1922. I note with extreme interest that mainstream media didn't report these facts.

Imagine thinking that the people who live in a neighborhood should have no say in whether other people can come over and light their dumpsters on fire.

Just straight up "Of course we have the right to light fires, the question is whether others have the right to stop or record us. They don't."

These aren't arrests. They are outright kidnappings.

The woman was just driving down road.

The red SUV suddenly swerved in front of her.

3 masked federal agents jumped out and aimed their guns at her. shouting “Out of the car!”

Like a scene out of Fallujah, Iraq, but it's Minnesota.

(it's not foolproof, obviously. And the threat of witnesses is increasingly not stopping them. But if you and your friends try to bum rush them w/o witnesses and no one knows where you are, ICE's calculus changes and now it's way more likely you're killed. And no one will know)

You want press coverage and you will need to manage it to the best you are able. Kicking people out like Will probably does more harm than good. You don't have to like him. You can recognize what he brings to the table with his connections to press and pols and manage that adroitly. Or not.
