The irony is that one of the reasons Harriet Harman decided not to pursue Badenoch for hacking her website was a belief that more black women in politics was a good thing. So, in a small but salient way, Badenoch owes her position to the very solidarity she now mocks.

So many senior appointees in the Trump admin got positions they were utterly unqualified and unprepared for because of their social media presence or Fox appearances. MAGA cheers it on. Then it constantly comes back to bite them when they screw things up - like the Texas gerrymander.

May have mentioned before but when I was a kid, my mother’s cousin married a Ugandan Asian guy and due to familial reasons the wedding was held from our house.
Lovely guy, Joe (as he insisted we call him). Lots of hair raising stories about how they got out of Uganda and across east Africa.
