i have to wonder how the MP plans to handle the inevitable, easily-predicted backlash against trans people by all the kids who blame trans people for losing access to their phones all day

Every single guide for detransitioning children involves isolating trans kids from the internet where people support them and ensuring the only “support” they have is their transphobic parents.

So, given that a lot of trans people are offended that Brianna's transfemicide is being turned into a crusade against phone use, when Brianna had a supportive online community and was murdered offline by her classmates:

Do you think "Touch grass" is an appropriate response to that context?

I do wonder how many of the cis people acting offended that mere trannies have the gall to call Brianna's mother a ghoul have experienced familial abuse? I wonder how many have buried that shit in order to maintain relationships trans people have to choice but to give up?

The net effect... BBC Newsnight, BBC News and BMJ pieces echoed each other.

Lobbyists, trans-hostile news outlets and 'gender critical' transphobes pointed to this “body of evidence” to push policy shifts and close down essential NHS services.

It was like money laundering, but for transphobia!

The ultimate twist is that 'gender critical' activist-journalists, Deborah Cohen and Hannah Barnes, reported the study to the HRA themselves!

The HRA was required to open an investigation because they’d received a report... which gave the Newsnight duo the shocking headline they desired.

The HRA publicly clarified that the study BBC journalists Deb Cohen and Hannah Barnes had criticised, had ethical approval.

Their page shows the BBC enquiry and the HRA response. No breach found, no withdrawn approval, no scandal. The BBC reporting misled people.

The BMJ article also gave opportunity for 'gender critical' transphobes to add commentary - further misleading any medical professional reading the BMJ to believe their claims had validity.

This BBC article was part of a wider anti-trans campaign by BBC Newsnight to frame The Tavistock GIDS service as 'dangerous' and puberty blockers as 'damaging'.

Just look at the blatantly obvious 'horror movie' imagery and 'tense music' used to manipulate emotions...

Here's the truth about how the BBC influenced both the law and the political agenda by manipulating public opinion.

In July 2019. Deborah Cohen and Hannah Barnes wrote a BBC article claiming the Tavistock puberty blockers study was "under HRA investigation"

It sounded like a scandal. It was not.

Back in 2019, Deborah Cohen and Hannah Barnes ran an anti-trans 'news' laundering scam using their privileged positions as Newsnight journalists, as well as Deb Cohen's position as an editor at the British Medical Journal (BMJ).

THIS is the real 'scandal' - one about BBC journalists as lobbyists...

a lot of queer folk can't quite put their fingers on why they're so angry and upset about this shit and yeah no this is it.

We all know and we even know that they know too. Eg the MP can't even give a single line explaining how this phone shit would have helped Brianna.

They're just playing dumb.
I hate this "phones" conversation regarding queer people and queer kids because the bottom line is, cishet society KNOWS. Right-wingers KNOW that the internet is how queer people connect to each other---hell, that marginalized people period use it to organize and educate.

That's why they hate it.

also maybe if you've been trying this isolation bullshit for over 20 years and it still isn't working another tactic should be attempted.

I'd sometimes send myself there just because I enjoyed the quiet time lmao. would've been better if I could hang out in my phone with friends tho. curse you 2005

idk maybe we should put transphobic bullies in isolation and instead give trans youth a chance at having a life amongst their peers instead of punishing a trans person for being victimised and isolating them from the rest of the school like they're contagious.

as a frequent flyer to my schools isolation I can attest to the fact that you quickly build relationships with teachers there. They're obviously just as bored as you are sitting in a quiet room all day. You aren't allowed to talk to other kids so you spark up a conversation with the teacher.

this is reflected in media surrounding Brianna's school life. Teachers describe positive relationships with her - but she didn't have any real friends at the school.

and like... she was there literally for no other reason than being trans. that was it. that was their solution to her being bullied.

I mentioned previously how Brianna was taught in school primarily in isolation and idk if non brits know what that means.

Tldr it's a room, generally with stalls in it so you can't see other kids and a teacher watching you. it's generally where kids are sent for bad behaviour.
“Surely, further isolating trans people will make their lives better!”

Maybe what people are actually sick of is managerial class career politicians saying better things aren't possible, and obviously lying in every single news appearance. Maybe people are sick of politicians telling them that their money problems are actually something else: something racist!

"Sorry kids, I can't see how this will make things better for the only humans who matter - columnists and their friends"
And today it's the turn of The Times to try and patronise us all.

Every single day the right wing establishment tries to close ranks.

And every day we are growing.
