I have two Bluesky accounts. This one is for occasional personal nonsense, mainly reading fesshole confessions.

Other account (@rahelbailie.bsk.social) is where I'll be more active, sharing work-related stuff.

You likely want to follow me there, not here.
What have I been up to this week? This, at tcworld in Stuttgart.

Read the entire thread. This is a post universal experience. How do we get rid of the real undesirables?
I’ve mulled over posting this for months now. But yesterday it came to a head. And I’m aware that the people who need to see it will either not be here, or will suggest that I’m lying.

I live near an asylum hotel. The reason I didn’t post earlier is that I didn’t want to raise undue attention

this is completely correct analysis
The expansion of American transphobia from a minority position is almost wholly astroturfed (more like astroTERFed) by a few writers, editors, and capitalists at the Times, the Atlantic, and maybe NYMag.

The administration is threatening to strip the citizenship of a man voters chose to serve as the Democratic Party’s nominee for Mayor of New York City because they don’t like his political views.

Just straight up fascist shit, no chaser.
Karoline Leavitt indicates the administration is open to a denaturalization-oriented investigation against Zohran Mamdani

Given that Sky is the key sponsor at the Isle of Wight Festival this year, you'd think the signal would be better. #irony

The Isle of Wight festival is a class act in so many ways. In our 6 am queue-to-queue for parking, they handed out sausage butties. #iow25

The 14:50 flight from Graz only took off at the time my connecting flight was supposed to leave Frankfurt. An overnight stay and a 7:00 am flight means getting up at 4 am. I am so soured on air travel right now.

Said "yes!" when he asked. Then he gave me a license code for Microsoft Project, so we could project manage our wedding. I changed my mind and said "no" as if that's the wedding, afterwards would be worse. No-one deserves a Microsoft Project managed life.

I didn’t give a wit about new pope coverage, but the first American pope being a man with Black ancestry born in Chicago by way of New Orleans by way of Haiti. Names his self after the pope who condemned slavery? In the Trump era? Oh, baebae, I am HERE for it.

Pope Leo XIV's grandparents were 7th Ward Creoles
The newly elected pontiff, born in Chicago, has ancestral ties to the city’s historic Seventh Ward, according to genealogists at The Historic New Orleans Collection.

I'm not sure folks are aware of how extensive the technological surveillance infrastructure has been extending everywhere over the past 25 years. When you couple this with the post-9/11 legal surveillance infrastructure, you have the ingredients for an off-the-shelf police state.

Removing those that don’t know - that’s a 62.5% to 37.5% breakdown.
