Can't you just make easy and popular ones?

Things that made me cry today...
Massive shoutout out to whoever handles the Royal Canadian Air Force’s social media account. They responded to every single comment on their already very solid Trans Day of Remembrance post and they responded like this…

🚨The Home Secretary said "illegal migration is dividing our country."

Let’s be clear: the only thing dividing our country is a politics devoid of humanity and compassion.

The plans announced today are a cruel political choice. It is #NotInOurName.

The Government has announced sweeping plans to overhaul refugee protection in the UK -  some of the most hostile we have seen in recent years. We are outraged, saddened, and extremely concerned.

NHS repeatedly gives Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) orders to disabled people for absolutely no reason.

Things like this are exactly why disabled people are against the Assisted Suicide law. We already can't trust that people won't try to kill us.

This stuff hits me so hard.

It has come to my attention that many of you have been sharing this photo of Streeting and Mandelson widely.

Please remember that Wes Streeting does not like it being shared widely. So please do not share it widely and on every possible occasion. We wouldn’t want to upset him would we?

I do not want to “Do my own research.” I want to pay trained accredited experts to do the research, trained accredited experts to report on findings, and trained accredited experts to make policy based on them.

I am busy af with my own job, I don’t need to do eight zillion more.

Pfft. The fundamental problem is asking the questions separately. It asked people what they wanted, not which mix they'd choose/how they'd budget for the things they want.

Don't blame people answering the questions they're asked for not answering a different, more complex question!
The fundamental problem:

58% of voters want public spending maintained or increased.

67% want taxes to stay at their current level or be cut.

In reality, it’s a binary choice. Taxes go up, or spending is cut. That’s it.

Work should not be a healthcare outcome.

It should be the last step of "recovery" for those who are able to get to that stage and for whom it is a positive step.

Employment and healthcare should not be conflated, ever... And if someone can't work, they can't work.

Dunno how Liz Kendall seems suddenly to be escaping criticism and it all be placed on Starmer's Chief of Staff. Kendall is literally the minister for work & pensions and has caused unimaginable suffering, quite literally reverberating in many folk's head as intrusive thoughts.

GOOD NEWS! Congratulations to Liberty on this fantastic win for protest rights.

These regulations were a major part of the crackdown on peaceful protest in England and Wales, and it's great to see the Court of Appeal confirming they're unlawful.

What is the point of an accessible toilet at Seven Sisters when the station isn't accessible?!

I know, I know, plenty of people that can use stairs might need the accessible loo, but it still pisses me off.

It's 2025. All stations should be accessible.

For those wondering why I'm screaming NOOOOOO to the assisted suicide bill.
The UNCRPD has called for Canada to cease what it describes as the assisted suicide of patients based on “negative, ableist perceptions” because of “systemic failures” in essential services such as accessible housing, healthcare & employment support.

Sound familiar?

Fragrance thinks my GP diagnoses me, I get on a register automatically and then the benefits come rolling in.

I don't know of a single benefit you can get purely because of a diagnosis. I really wish people would do basic fact checking of MPs. They're just as liable to spout nonsense as anyone else
Being disabled does not make someone “a victim”, Nigel Farage. Having state support to go to school does not make someone “a victim” either.

These kind of remarks are in many ways why I wrote Who Wants Normal? Disabled young people deserve more than this vile narrative.
