CN: Horrific, current medical abuse in a hospital (action needed!)

This is extremely distressing. Sorry. But there's a template to write to the hospital to try to help someone get care and...not die. So please do.
URGENT:

An NHS hospital is starving a severe ME patient & has now stopped giving her fluids. Savannah has now lived with severe ME for several years - but the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in South London is putting her life at risk. @h-sharland.bsky.social has the story

This paragraph has me laughing out loud. Liars.

Thread from an actual specialist!

(ET in this context is Employment Tribunal. FWS is the For Women Scotland Supreme Court decision)
Mini thread on the ET decision in Peggie

Top line: It says exactly what we have been saying for months. The decision of the Supreme Court was not to turn the Equality Act 2010 into a nationwide bathroom ban - regardless of how anti-trans organisations have sought to misrepresent the law.

Excellent news! Have not read properly, but...an awful transphobe just lost her awful transphobic employment tribunal case.

And the court said the Equality Act 2010 does NOT require trans women to be excluded from a women's changing room. Yes, after the For Women Scotland supreme court case.

YES

Can we please also repeatedly say out loud 2 things:

1 that in a society where there is a cost of living crisis, people who have always even disabled and not applied for benefits might find themselves needing to do so?
I genuinely think a lot of people treat it as being graded on a curve, in a sense. Like, help should only go to a consistent percentage of the least abled people, whatever happens.
there is no natural golden ratio of abled to disabled ppl, and no upper cap on what percentage of population can be disabled. if you sicken and injure enough ppl, and destroy accessibility of public life in a hostile and unsupported society so a wider and wider range are excluded, the skys the limit

uk government just made it illegal to glance at a lighthouse.
I'd hate to be a boat owner after this passes.

Imagine all the information that could be be useful for your navigation but which would ALSO be potentially useful to those guiding small boats across the Channel.

Will the Shipping Forecast cease broadcasting? That, after all, makes crossings easier.

Let’s be clear: the only thing dividing our country is a politics devoid of humanity and compassion.

The plans announced today are a cruel political choice. It is #NotInOurName.

NHS repeatedly gives Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) orders to disabled people for absolutely no reason.

Things like this are exactly why disabled people are against the Assisted Suicide law. We already can't trust that people won't try to kill us.

This stuff hits me so hard.

Pfft. The fundamental problem is asking the questions separately. It asked people what they wanted, not which mix they'd choose/how they'd budget for the things they want.

Don't blame people answering the questions they're asked for not answering a different, more complex question!
The fundamental problem:

58% of voters want public spending maintained or increased.

67% want taxes to stay at their current level or be cut.

In reality, it’s a binary choice. Taxes go up, or spending is cut. That’s it.

Work should not be a healthcare outcome.

It should be the last step of "recovery" for those who are able to get to that stage and for whom it is a positive step.

Employment and healthcare should not be conflated, ever... And if someone can't work, they can't work.
