Imagine how wholesome life could be if they were chasing the votes of the people who are enjoying pics of sumo wrestlers at tourist sites?

I'm going to just think about that for a bit.

Yep, always trying to interpret everything!

When are we getting nanobots that TELL US exactly what's wrong?!

Interesting. That makes sense in that horrible way that there's these tiny nuances that differentiate different flavours of symptoms that are hard to describe!

Thanks for taking the time x

Ooh, interesting. I don't get this one.

Would you mind describing what the symptoms are, for you, of the "too much rest" feeling?

Not that I don't agree with you - I don't think they will get rid of stamp duty. But equally I think it's important in any tax conversation that the people earning income paying income tax and NIC and buying goods paying VAT pay the vast majority of all tax. Stamp duty hits the richer > Tory policy

Everything other than the biggest 3 can easily be tinkered with: "In 2024/25, UK government raised around £1,136 billion in
receipts...Over half come from three main sources: income tax, National
Insurance contributions (NICs) and value added tax (VAT)....£649 billion" 2/3

From the obr (obr.uk/forecasts-in...): "In 2025-26 we estimate that property transaction taxes will raise £15.7 billion. This represents 1.3 per cent of all receipts and is equivalent to around £540 per household and 0.5 per cent of national income." Definitely not enough for a country collapse. 1/2
Property transaction taxes - Office for Budget Responsibility
Property transaction taxes in the UK are paid by the purchaser when a property is bought. There are currently three such taxes in operation in the UK: Stamp duty land tax (SDLT) in operation in Englan...

(I think they don't care which, they're just trying to keep costs down by causing infighting so they can at least *either* defund disabled people or keep the cap, if not both.)
