⏪ Last year was an extremely hostile year for women seeking safety in the UK.

Yet the refugee women in our network met this hostility with hope, resistance and sisterhood! And we couldn’t be prouder.

Today @hmiprisonsnews.bsky.social released an inspection report on Derwentside.

📢 The report shows what we already know: detention harms.

➡️ Pregnant women & survivors of violence are still detained
➡️ Vulnerabilities ignored

Detention is never safe. It’s time to #EndDetention.

The proposed reforms to the asylum system will have a disproportionate impact on people with protected characteristics - like women and the LGBTQ+ community.

We're extremely thankful to Kirsty Blackman MP for securing a Westminster Hall Debate this morning analysing this disproportionate harm.
