Ang (Kyle Carrozza's victim) is in a dire situation and needs our help.

Please help them through this by donating any amount of money you can afford, even if just a few dollars.

Don't let them just be someone to "use" for fiction discourse: please show that you actually care.

This might be my final true statement if I don’t get the help I fucking need. I don’t even think anyone will see it or care enough to get me the rescuing I need. I need rescuing. I’m going to die.
Statement in thread.

You can't defend BDSM while being an anti-shipper.

You either support people's right to enjoy nsfw fanfiction/fanart about taboo fantasies /and/ BDSM or you support neither, because once you look closer, they are the same thing.

How so, you ask? Let's break it down 🧵 #thread

seeing a lot of folks talking about how conservative "pornography" bans are a pretense/prelude to targeting any & all queer or trans art, which is absolutely true

also: banning & criminalizing actual honest-to-god porn is fascist in itself. say that too!

Laws on sensitive topics that only sound good on paper to get a positive emotional reaction out of the average person but that experts know are actually really bad for the victims and will just cause them to be criminalized more than their abusers? No way... I'm shocked... /s
8. Good DV laws take that into account. HR30 is not that. As a result, it has the practical effect of turning victims into criminals, and providing protection to rapists and assaulters. "Resist and I'll get you deported" becomes the last thing you hear before horrors are inflicted on you.

✨ Fandom isn’t activism
✨ Clout will never make you happy, and means nothing in real life
✨ If it doesn’t exist, write/make art of it! Not only will you have something to read, but I guarantee someone out there has been looking for *exactly* that
✨ Nothing has to make sense, it just has to be fun
I woke up in the night thinking about this & will forget if I don't wing it into the universe right now, so...

Unless it involves a real life child or depiction of a real life child, don't refer to fandom works as Child Porn/CSEM or CSAM. Don't refer to people as paedophiles unless they are talking about real children.

As someone who works with exploitated children and groups that search for and help them

New: Meta has deleted trans and nonbinary Messenger themes, as well as the blog posts announcing them. Happens the same week that it has changed its rules to allow users to say LGBTQ+ people are "mentally ill"

just to be clear about what this means: on meta properties, you can call a trans person mentally ill, and if they respond with the exact same insult, the trans person is the only one violating the policy.
Meta literally created a LGBTQ exception for calling someone mentally ill as an insult. You can't do it for any other group except LGBTQ people.

ok Again sorry to screenshot dunk but. what.

most proship-identifying people i know profess some variation of "yeah my blocklist has 50000000 accounts on it because i want to be left alone and im tired of antis threatening to murder my pets and telling me they hope i get raped again"

One of the more toxic things to come out of online culture is the notion that critique of everything is appropriate at all times, under all circumstances, in any context - that your opinion is always worth sharing.

i fucking hate patreon so fucking much

writes a story where it's like. hey rape and sexual violence is bad, sexual violence is most pervasive within power vacuums bc it's here where it's most permitted

patreon then hides the story for "glorifying" sexual violence

Mastercard's new policy unfairly targets the adult content industry, making sex workers more vulnerable, especially Black trans women. It must be stopped.

If you dislike something or it makes you uncomfortable, that’s okay! But you don’t need to let the creator know. You don’t need to let anyone know, honestly. You can just ignore it and move on with your life. Fandom is about enjoying the things you like, not bashing the things you hate.

We will continue to work on empowering people with more control over their experience.

Sex workers flagged the danger early, because sex work is largely criminalized, and the power of the state wasn't just some theoretical.

As trans healthcare is criminalized, once again we're seeing the power the state can wield.

Video game characters are not actually real. They don’t bleed, they can’t get their feelings hurt, they can’t be betrayed because they are a collection of pixels and code and words and sound files.

The game devs I’m lucky to work with are real people who deserve at least basic human respect.

We need a term for transphobic 4channer types who sound like they might be proship on the surface but are actually just "what i like is ok, what you don't like isn't" like an anti.

How about "4chantis"?

Things have been getting worse for artists that create any fictional underage nsfw art.
Please be aware of the legal risks and protect yourself as much as you can. Obscenity laws suck.
Okay, last week was reminding everyone who thinks all lolicon art is illegal that they're wrong; this week it's apparently time to remind everyone who thinks all lolicon art is legal that they're wrong, too. Content note: discusses depictions of minors engaged in sexual activity.
1/ We're experiencing a huge influx of users, and with that, a predictable uptick in harmful content posted to the network.

As a result, for some very high-severity policy areas like child safety, we recently made some short-term moderation choices to prioritize recall over precision.
