One of Majel’s final performances, and I think the last appearance of Lwaxana Troi, was an episode I didn’t get as a kid.

As an adult I see it as a masterpiece: successfully taking the ‘crazy mother in law’ from TNG to a deep, nuanced woman who seeks out the joy in life because of the horrors.

Autumnal vibes this weekend as we put up the last of the season’s peppers from the farmers market.

Also pickled peppers are great in soups, but the liquid itself is the real treasure. In a month or two this will yield a flavor packed, spicy punch of acid to whatever it’s added to.
A 2 quart jar sits on a blue dish towel, the interior of the jar is filled with multiple peppers, onion and garlic, and it all is suspended in a clear liquid.
