Hey, I've still got this account on here- hope it becomes a proper twitter replacement, now that it allows video I think it should be a lot more appealing to animators. I'm gonna try to post the same mix of oscillating between mainly dino and scifi content and my own 3D art that I post elsewhere.
There's an auction with stuff from various scifi properties that I was skimming through for pics... One of the items is a binder of production photos from the '70s, but they are in a VERY stylish '90s binder with a James Gurney Ceratosaurus painting on it. Forget the contents, I want the binder!

Threw some of the same smart materials on those unfinished legs just to see it looking a little more complete, and possibly complete enough to be used as a promo render for that SC2 mod I contribute to.

So in Frankenstein (both the book and the new movie), a character quotes poetry, by the author's husband... does that mean that Mary Shelley also exists in-universe? 🤔

New art from me! Watering Hole. Heavily inspired by H.R. Giger and Alien. Not sure if this counts for #xenovember but it’s close enough 🖤 Hope you all dig it!

Funny story from 10 years ago today- I'd done some StarCraft fanart scale charts, & Blizzard contracted me to make an updated version that appeared in a licensed tie-in book. That year at Blizzcon they printed and displayed them, but they didn't tell me, so I didn't go / didn't find out til later.

Since I’ve been using my Nebula class a lot in STO this past week, I might as well use that as an excuse to make a gif of one of my favourite warp out sequences.

Power is out in my building, so the hallways have instantly become fun demo spaces for real time reflections, using lighting to draw the player's attention, etc. #gameart #leveldesign

Another StarCraft model I never quite finished (leg modeling was like 60% done, here they are just hidden): the Terran Goliath. For this one I went really faithful, intentionally modeling things to that 90s level of detail even if it was a little goofy in places. I did add a cockpit interior.

While we're on #StarCraft, here is a render of my StarCraft 1-style terran marine model. IMO the SC remaster had a great marine design that nodded to some of the elements of the classic one well, but it still wasn't the classic one, so I'd wanted to go closer. #Blender3d #fanart

Some pics of my now years-old #StarCraft Terran Wraith model. 1st image has the initial blockout, 2nd image compares it with the original (there are many differences, mainly with the sides of the cockpit, it's not 1:1). Modeled in Maya, textured in Substance Painter, rendered in Blender. #fanart

Aender continues to demonstrate why they are one of my favourite hard surface artists who deal with mechanical designs and animation is them.
The Moon Car is part of the main props in the Cheese Moon Map(cara.app/post/b675aad...) for Rawmen, one of the 4 vehicles in the map inspired by a type of cheese, specially created to explore the cheese moon ground. 🧀

Another, different old test of the same subject. I had done some more exploration on procedural materials, got some nicer 90s-style tileable paneling textures in this one, but it's lacking some grit. I think an exact middle ground between the two would be good. Who knows if I have them though...

Happened to look at a 1999 Scholastic Book Fair promo video that featured an odd novel we had to read in middle school, Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse. It made me also reflect on other books by/about women in my high school literature classes that weren't part of the usual 20th century school canon:

I'll also mention, the reason no fan ever got the proportions of the SC1 battlecruiser right is because almost everyone assumes that at least most of these lines should be parallel. But as this orthographic render from the manual shows, they are very much not. It made perspective matching very hard.
