my takeaway is that going out to protests and organizing with your community like minneapolis has shown us and getting offline, where people are paid to parrot government propaganda, is the best action you can do and reminds you the average person isn’t insane or evil

I find this language really gross. First off, it's weak as hell. But second, if your demand is simply that ICE leaves Minnesota, that's just telling them to go to another state to terrorize people.

These centrist squishes need to push for full abolition of ICE.
Our message is clear: ICE needs to get out of Minnesota.

If you feel powerless, you really should channel that energy into community strengthening and support. It can be as simple as searching "(your city)+mutual aid". Start there. The most valuable thing you can give is your time, volunteer for a reputable org and make a difference where you can.

Call your senators. ICE today is a product of ICE of yesterday, of our carceral and policing and security logic — that’s all true. But shooting civilians point blank in the street with impunity is turning a corner we won’t come back from. Please call them today & tell them not to fund this.

Honestly at this point, remove him. Tell him to get the fuck out of town now. He's cashing a check on the Minneapolis taxpayer dime RIGHT NOW and they're being murdered in cold blood
I can't believe "asking Donald Trump to stop" is still the strategy

Good morning.

Please support Minnesota, if you can, in our Day of Action, ICE Out of MN, today.

No work
No school
No shoping

The Twin Cities are occupied by a hostile armed force. Participate, if you are able, in today's no work, school, and shopping.

Thank you.

its really, lets say 'awkward', that every fucking "oopsie i voted for trump" article that gets pushed as an example of trump voters changing always glides over the trump voter's rabid hatred of gays and trans people that doesn't exactly tell me they're my future ally.

At this point I'm convinced the only Lynch screenings at rep theaters that are safe from inappropriate laughter are Eraserhead and The Straight Story
I caught a beautiful new print of BLUE VELVET tonight, which I haven’t seen projected in almost ten years, and people just cackled during Rossellini’s big scene (you know the one). It was not only disruptive and didn’t fit with what was on screen, it was legitimately disturbing. Why? It’s not funny.
