1. For at least 10 years, Pepsi has conspired with Walmart to force up grocery prices. That’s the shocking evidence made public today in an unsealed FTC lawsuit. The suit was abandoned in May by the Trump FTC just before it was to be un-redacted. We went to court to get it unsealed & won.

WOW. @haleaziz.bsky.social with a new scoop: ICE now gets a running list of every person who is going to be taking a domestic flight inside the United States from the TSA and runs it through their database looking for targets. This explains the Babson College student's arrest.

Serious question for a reporter to ask Ted Lieu:

Is Ted signaling here that he and Dem Leadership have discussed getting rid of Rule IX? I don't see how else they can necessarily control whether or not there are "impeachment votes" otherwise.

I know things are changing because while I still do it because I’m me, I am barely having to argue about impeachment anymore with most people.

Losers are on here saying with their whole chest "why should dems impeach if you don't know for 100% certain that you have 67 votes in the senate!!!!!"

Gee, I don't know it's good politics and you don't know what the future is going to be like so maybe you should just try to take the bastard down
I just can’t take these arguments seriously (you need 67 though by the way haha).

Literally all sorts of crazy stuff is introduced in Congress every single day without the votes. And then you get them.

Just keep forcing questions and keep a quorum going until you figure it out!

It’s considered such a humiliation to push for something when you don’t have the votes— especially in the majority where you’re expected to never hold a failing vote. But sometimes members who privately oppose might vote differently when it’s up on the board.

Exactly! But it’s considered a sign that you don’t know how things are done. Everything is supposed to be pre-arranged before the hearing or the vote. I think the reluctance to look unsavvy is one of the big enabling factors of paralysis.

Been fighting with a centrist dem on here over their claims that " impeachment is pointless because you don't have 60 votes".

As if that were something Republicans ever worried about when they've built their ***CAMPAIGNS*** against democrats

It’s really important to not undersell what happened yesterday as it was truly historic.

Three impeachment articles got introduced this week over the objections of leadership and now leadership is too scared to formally not support impeachment when it comes up for a vote.

Someone pointed out to me that the players involved are similar to in Trump’s term. Ted Lieu was equivocating back then too.

What’s changed is now they are so scared of the outcry they are voting present instead of no. Even Pelosi.

Accurate assessment of Lieu and quite a tell from Pelosi, who was instrumental in preventing, delaying, and finally reducing Trump's impeachment articles to a total of only three out of over 100 crimes.

The problem is not having a sufficient factual record developed yet on Jan 3, 2027 to immediately impeach. It's narrowing down the list from the literally dozens if not hundreds of obvious charges where all relevant evidence is already available because he did it, dead simple, in broad daylight.

There are some needed impeachments where ideally you would want to do a good deal of fact-finding and collecting evidence because it's a genuinely complicated matter. And then there are the eighty times a day Trump looks straight to camera and says "ha ha I love doing all the high crimes."

Aside from how he's wrong right now on the history, process, strategy, and merits, this is Jeffries heavily signaling that even when they're in the majority, he'll oppose any impeachment that doesn't first get slow-walked in needless committee dithering for as long as he can delay it there.
Significant statement from Jeffries and House Democratic leaders saying they will vote “present” on the motion to table Al Green’s resolution to impeach President Trump. They say they’re “laser-focused on fighting to lower the high cost of living” plus on health care and corruption.
