ACIP has posted a draft agenda for their upcoming meeting on 12/4 and 12/5.

Alarm bells are blaring. They are going to spend the entire first day talking about the vaccine schedule.

There is no evidence whatsoever that there is any danger whatsoever with the current vaccine schedule.

I will never not be mad that the FDA and CDC tried to appease antivaxxers by ensuring that young kids would all be infected before the covid vaccine was authorized for their age group.
Teens need access to COVID vaccinations to help prevent Long COVID as well as acute COVID infection.

NEW: The entire staff supporting ACIP was laid off, and most working groups haven't met in months.

That means the US may not make routine vaccine recommendations for more than half of children in 2026, and it could halt new vaccines in the pipeline. My latest:

Michigan is conspicuously absent from this list of states joining efforts in the Public Health Alliance to protect people. What gives, Gov. Whitmer?
15 US states and territories have formed a new Public Health Alliance, which will counter the absence of federal leadership by tracking outbreaks, issuing guidance, buying vaccines and more.

Members of the new alliance include CA, CO, CT, DE, GU, HI, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, NC, OR, RI, WA.

The phrasing you're looking for is that he's suspending parts of the Constitution by decree.
President Trump on Wednesday signed a memorandum expanding his administration’s authority to repurpose unspent federal funds to pay members of the military during the government shutdown, escalating his challenge to the authority of Congress on spending matters.
Trump Signs Memo Expanding His Authority to Spend Federal Money
The president gave Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth wide authority to repurpose funds to pay members of the military without approval from Congress, which has the sole constitutional authority to decide federal spending.

Everything you never previously needed to know about the Anti-Deficiency Act:
Taken together with impoundments, this would break everything. The president is claiming the power to not spend money he doesn't want to and now also to spend money where it's not allowed. And SCOTUS might say no one has standing to stop him. That would make him an appropriations king.
