What's the case for keeping the Senate vs the benefits of abolishing this body of bloated bleaters who actively work against democracy and the interests of the People of the United States?
Just because they're supposed to work for us doesn't mean they do, and their actions prove that.
Just because they're supposed to work for us doesn't mean they do, and their actions prove that.
Abolish the Senate. I am absolutely dead serious.

We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work w/us"

If they can get away with banning us from so many facets of life, then when the next part of the plan comes, most cis people will shrug and say, "well, they weren't really part of society anyway".

Working on a project about ALPRs and it turned out that Flock's privacy policy page has been excluded from the wayback machine. Also wouldn't let Perma CC archive it either. They really don't want people archiving their policies.

Just a reminder if Cuomo loses, the corporate Democrats nationwide are going to go even harder against everyone demanding actual material change in place of theater and technocratic nothing. Corporate dems are in the fight for their life and they will do everything in their power to hold power.

The reason we continue to see Democrats literally capitulating with fascists at key moments where actual continued resistance would have fractured the fascists power is because fracturing the systemic powers that support fascism would also destroy neoliberalism and its theater in place of action.

This isn’t happening because Chuck Schumer is naïve or because he is old or because of any other reason than the reality is that he agrees with Trump and is telling his caucus to give him cover as he is up for reelection and his caucus likes what Trump and the republicans are doing.

this is frankly reason alone to say "no deal" to anything for the next three years. but this isn't viewed as a worthy cause for the same reason anti-ice activities isn't viewed as a worthy cause for the same reason that there were no actions taken against gillibrand calling mamdani a "jihadist".
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

Democrats like Schumer don't represent us, they manage us. One of their tactics is to dangle expectations of action to keep us placated (and distracted from their complicity with Republicans).
Schumer on government funding: "Our position remains this: We want to keep the government open by engaging in bipartisan negotiation where we can address some of the grave harms Donald Trump has caused to our health care system and help Americans with the cost of living."

Schumer's performative "no" vote insults my intelligence, and makes me very angry. What was the point? That he's so weak and feckless, he can't keep his caucus from surrendering? Who is that supposed to impress?
If he's just protecting himself politically, it's craven and obvious.

Exactly. Remember "NaNcY hAs A pLaN?" How's that going?
The congressional Democrats neither work for nor represent us, and it's foolish to go on as if they will magically step up someday, especially after decades of this.

This is just the time during which you can ill afford their feckless ways.

This is why “oh you can’t blame the Dems for Manchin” never carried water with me.
The thing @schumer.senate.gov appears to be doing where he gets everybody who’s retiring or was just sworn in to a six-year term to vote yes so he and a bunch more moderates can vote “no” to appear more progressive than they are is so insulting lol

Didn't the orchestrators of the 2008 crisis largely benefit with few to no consequences? If true, why wouldn't others follow similar models?
This is insane. This is *literally* doing the same mechanics of the housing crisis and 2008 recession but to create debt to finance construction of AI data centers
