And this is why most of us just want universal healthcare. I’d rather pay taxes to the government than pay thousands to CEO bonuses while people don’t get care.

People will already be paying those thousands in subsidies or will have lost coverage. January is pointless.
The centrist argument will probably be: this is a short term (Jan 30) extension and if we don't see real movement on the ACA subsidies by then we can shut it down again. We will keep the ACA subsidies as a key issue in a election year. But not sure there will be appetite to go through this again.

Asshat school board candidate is down 371 votes right now. Elections department got 219 in the mail today and another 54 which were dropped off on Election Day after they emptied it but before the polls closed.
